Collaborative 75th Anniversary Version Of “How Great Thou Art (Until That Day)” Feat. Chris Tomlin, TAYA, Cody Carnes, Kari Jobe, Matt Redman & MORE

2024 ushers in a significant milestone for one of the world’s most beloved hymns, “How Great Thou Art.” Marking the 75th anniversary of this cherished song written by Stuart K. Hine, a group of award-winning artists came together to celebrate and record a version.

This special collaboration unites the voices of many of today’s top artists, featuring Chris Tomlin, Hillary Scott, Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes, Matt Redman, Naomi Raine, Blessing Offor, Jon Reddick, TAYA, Brian and Jenn Johnson, Matt Maher, Pat Barrett, Benjamin William Hastings, Ryan Ellis and Mitch Wong.

Commissioned by the Stuart Hine Trust, Matt Redman and Mitch Wong crafted the new verse, offering a strikingly powerful addition to the timeless hymn while hoping to stir souls and bring critical help to those in need.

“In the lyrics, we wanted to acknowledge the ‘broken, warring world’ we live in, but also to sing with hope and faith over that,” Matt Redman explains. “Worship isn’t meant to have an escapist mentality, where we ignore what’s going on around us in this fragile, fallen world. Instead, we can engage with these things, pray for, and acknowledge God’s ultimate kingdom rule and reign in the midst of them.”

Produced by Matt Maher and Steve Marcia, with the string arrangement by Tommee Profitt, “How Great Thou Art (Until That Day)” is administered by Integrity Music (internationally) and Capitol CMG (US).

The new recording was captured at Gold Pacific Studios in Los Angeles and the iconic RCA Studio B in Nashville, establishing a poignant connection to the legendary artist Elvis Presley. It was in 1966 when Presley himself recorded his GRAMMY Award-winning rendition of the song in the very same RCA studio.

Benjamin William Hastings Drops Live Version Of “Abandoned” Feat. Brandon Lake

Today, Benjamin William Hastings drops a live version of his current single, Abandoned,” featuring Brandon Lake.

Written by Hastings along with Lake, Cody Carnes, and Chris Davenport, the studio version of “Abandoned” was released on January 12 to high acclaim, marking it Hastings’ highest debut single to date with more than half a million streams since its release.

“This is a surrender song,” Hastings reveals about its theme. “It’s coming from the perspective of everything God has done for us and the ways in which He surrendered and modeled that for us. How would we not do the same?”

Stream & Enjoy

He adds, “At first listen, this song may come across like it’s about our abandon and sure, it is, but to me, it’s more about His. He who not only chose the cross but had ‘angels at His fingertips’ and chose to remain. Every second, deciding again not to give up but to persevere. To repeatedly pursue surrender, even at the hour of greatest agony. I can’t think of a more inspiring sentiment than this, and I guess that brings me back to why it may sound like a song about our abandon; Maybe that’s the only way to respond to His.”

This live recording of “Abandoned” was captured last fall while Hastings and Lake were touring together. He says, “I got to write this with some of my favorite people, and I’m honestly overwhelmed by all the excitement around it. I pray (like it has for me) it helps you articulate words that you didn’t know you had trapped inside, and ultimately inspires worship.”

“Completely, deeply, sold out sincerely, abandoned

I’m completely, freely, hands to the ceiling enamored

My one life endeavor

To match your surrender

To mirror not my will but yours

I’m completely, deeply, don’t care who sees me abandoned

Oh I surrender”

Additionally, Hastings partnered with Air1 Radio yesterday to exclusively premiere the live version. The network played the song at the top of every hour throughout the day.

Benjamin William Hastings is sharing “Abandoned” and many of his other hit songs on Phil Wickham’s “I Believe 2024 Tour,” which kicks off tonight to a sold-out crowd in Jacksonville, Florida. Below are the latest tour dates, with more stops recently added.

The Northern Delaware Chapter GMWA Recording Choir Release New Single “More Than a Conqueror (Live)” Featuring A. Jermaine and Kim Glass

Wilmington, D.E.  —  In 2016, The Northern Delaware Chapter, Inc. of the Gospel Music Workshop of America Recording Choir (NDC GMWA) released their debut album, GOD BE GLORIFIED, which earned them six Rhythm of Gospel Award nominations and two awards. Their powerful delivery and genuine praise have made way for them to sing for President Biden and recently at the celebration of life services for the late Wilmington District Councilman Ted Blount, the father of Delaware Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester.

In 2019, under the leadership of choirmaster Minister Wayne E. Carter, Sr. (The Maestro), the NDC GMWA Choir followed up with a hit radio single, “All Of My Help”. NDC GMWA is starting the new year stronger than ever with a hot new single, “More Than A Conqueror (Live),” that is fresh for Gospel radio and refreshingly empowering for listeners.

NDC GMWA Musical Director Pastor AJ Collier states, “The spirit of defeat and discouragement is rampant today. So many people feel hopeless and helpless. This song reminds believers that they have victory through Jesus Christ in every situation. When you are in Christ, and He is in you, victory is your portion.”

“More Than A Conqueror (Live)” features lead vocals by Kim Glass and A Jermaine Nixon.  Nixon also served as producer for the song. The high-octane praise anthem is written by Brian Pittman.

“The sentiment of our new single gives to the believer that despite inconsistencies, struggles, and doubts, we have the assurance through Him that we can conquer anything,” says Wayne E. Carter, Sr.  “The lyrics admonish us that we are victorious and triumphant regardless of what we see.  More Than A Conqueror lifts and inspires my soul so I will not be defeated.”

“More Than A Conqueror (Live)” is taking off on Gospel radio and is now available on all digital music platforms. Their new single has already garnered the choir another six nominations for this year’s Rhythm Of Gospel Awards. The 2024 Rhythm Of Gospel Awards will occur on June 23, 2024, in Mobile, AL.
