Gabby Barrett’s ‘Chapter & Verse’ Album Out Now

Today (2/2) marks the sought-after release of Chapter & Verse – the boldly ambitious and beautifully realized album from Warner Music Nashville’s MULTI-PLATINUM star Gabby Barrett. A major leap forward for the 23-year-old singer-songwriter, Barrett’s sophomore LP arrives as an autobiographical tour-de-force that more than fulfills the immense promise of her PLATINUM-certified, history-making, hit-stacked debut Goldmine.

In an extraordinary evolution of Goldmine – a 2020 release that came to life during lockdown and delivered smash singles like the 7X PLATINUM #1 “I Hope” – Barrett stepped into the studio for the very first time in the making of Chapter & Verse and co-produced the full album alongside GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter-producer Ross Copperman.

As she claimed a whole new level of creative control, Barrett co-wrote nine of the 14 songs, and ultimately dreamed up a high-concept yet emotionally candid body of work, brightening every moment with her soul-stirring vocal. With its title nodding to the chapters and verses within each book of the Bible, the result is a deeply moving and exquisitely detailed portrait of her experience as a wife, mother, and woman of faith.

Mainly recorded at Nashville’s iconic Blackbird Studio, Chapter & Verse took shape with a stellar lineup of musicians who helped craft the album’s lush and timeless sound – an element informed by Barrett’s decision to fully lean into her Country roots.

In addition to co-writing with luminaries like the iconic Miranda Lambert, Barrett teamed up with Country superstar Luke Combs on “Dance Like No One’s Watching” (a track she teased to overwhelming response in an Instagram post last year). Laced with tender pedal steel tones, the nostalgia-tinged stunner speaks to the enduring sustenance of a father’s love and the indelible wisdom passed from parent-to-child (from the chorus: “And he said dance like no one’s watching / Whatever you do / And if life gives you love, fall in / But always be you”).

After co-writing “Dance Like No One’s Watching” with Emily Weisband and James McNair, Combs handed the song off to Barrett and lent his unforgettably warm background vocals to the track. “I grew up being a daddy’s girl, and now I get to watch my husband and daughter have that father-daughter bond,” says Barrett. “That’s just irreplaceable.” Listen to “Dance Like No One’s Watching”

Showing her incredible range as a songwriter and vocalist, Chapter & Verse encompasses everything from feel-good anthems to tearful piano ballads, and full-hearted love songs exploring the more nuanced and complex dimensions of long-lasting romance.

Along with the previously released songs “Cowboy Back,” “Growin’ Up Raising You,” and “You’re My Texas,” the album includes Barrett’s current single “Glory Days” – a heart-thumping ode to living in the moment and appreciating the lovely simplicity of everyday life. Now Top 20-and-climbing at Country radio, “Glory Days” marked her second time in the coveted most-added position with 77 first-week stations (the most first-week adds for a female artist in the genre in 14 months).

That triumph is proving to be par for the course for Barrett, whose record-breaking achievements with Goldmine included earning the most first-week debut album streams of any Country act in history.

Opening on “The Chapter” (a soaring and soulful anthem that muses on the ups-and-downs of early adulthood), Chapter & Verse closes out with “The Verse: Doxology (Amen)” (a breathtaking a cappella rendition of one of Barrett’s most cherished hymns, featuring singer-songwriter Phil Wickham). All throughout Chapter & Verse, Barrett infuses her songs with equal parts honesty, grace, and warmhearted perspective — and, in turn, fully affirms her status as one of the most formidable young talents in Country music today.

Further celebrating Chapter & Verse with fans, guests are invited to take a backstage look into Barrett’s meteoric career and life on the road with Gabby Barrett: The Chapter & Verse Experience. Opening yesterday (2/1) and housed at Nashville’s Fifth + Broadway (located on Level 1 between the entrance of Assembly Food Hall and Hattie B’s) plus a tour bus parked on-site, guests can step inside her world and the journey to making Chapter & Verse through wardrobe and memorabilia.

Open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT today (2/2), the immersive event will also include an album listening party at 3-4 p.m. CT.The tour bus will relocate to the Plaza at the Grand Ole Opry House and reopen from 5-10 p.m. CTGabby Barrett: The Chapter & Verse Experience is free and open to the public.

For KING & COUNTRY Share “Checking In” Feat. Lee Brice From ‘Unsung Hero’ Movie

Today, the multi-platinum and four-time Grammy Award winning duo for KING + COUNTRY drops “Checking In” with Lee Brice from the “UNSUNG HERO” movie inspired-by soundtrack.

Their family biopic, “UNSUNG HERO, will be in theaters nationwide on April 26.

Multi-Platinum and four-time Grammy Award winning duo for KING + COUNTRY drops their sophomore track “Checking In (Feat. Lee Brice)” from their forthcoming “UNSUNG HERO” movie inspired-by soundtrack. Available today alongside an official music video, “Checking In” is a fitting tribute to vivid memories, bittersweet regret, and the love between a parent and a child, as portrayed in the upcoming theatrical biopic that will be released in theaters nationwide on April 26 via LIONSGATE.

Written by Michael Farren, Kenneth Cooper Hart, and Garrett Jacobs; and produced by Ben Glover, “Checking In” unites the duo with ACM/CMA award winner Lee Brice for a bonafide country song that soundtracks scenes from “UNSUNG HERO,” which find patriarch David Smallbone wrestling with guilt and remorse after his father’s unexpected death. Putting language around real life, “Checking In” helps define the feelings that inevitably arise when we lose a loved one.

“Here’s the backstory: our label-mate Lee Brice had found himself struck by the powerful lyrics of a song titled ‘Checking In,’ and placed the song on hold,” says for KING + COUNTRY. “The creative spark ignited when we also stumbled across the song and were captivated by the sentiment behind it.

We were working on the ‘Inspired By’ record for our film ‘UNSUNG HERO’ at the time, which circles around family, and thought, ‘What if we worked on this together? Yes, it’s country song, but we do live in Nashville, and have the word ‘country’ in our band name…’ And just like that, ‘Checking In’ was born, a testament to heartfelt songwriting, and magic that happens when diverse musical worlds collide.”

Adds Brice, “I’ve been a fan of for KING + COUNTRY since I first heard them. I initially heard ‘Checking In’ a couple years ago and immediately put it on hold. Ironically, Joel and Luke heard this song through a mutual friend and wanted to cut it. Our worlds came together, and it was an honor to be asked to join them on a track for their upcoming film. Any time someone asks for you to be a part of telling their story, it is truly humbling, and I hope everyone digs the song and goes to see this incredible journey on the big screen.”

“Checking In (Feat. Lee Brice)” follows on the heels of for KING + COUNTRY’s re-imagined Michael W. Smith classic hit song, “Place In This World,” the premiere track from their “inspired-by” album that features Smith himself. Fans can anticipate additional singles to drop from the duo this year leading up to their official soundtrack release which boasts several other A-list collaborations.

In addition to their new music, the duo is also nominated for a 2024 Grammy Award with multi-Platinum recording artist Jordin Sparks for their song, “LOVE ME LIKE I AM.” Their family biopic and Joel Smallbone’s directorial debut film, “UNSUNG HERO”, will release in theaters nationwide on April 26.

PLATINUM-certified, GRAMMY-nominated artist and songwriter Anne Wilson announces her bold, genre-blending album REBEL, available April 19. To offer a glimpse of the forthcoming album, Wilson releases a new song titled “God & Country” today. Co-penned with Jeff Pardo, Matthew West and Trannie Anderson, the track showcases both sides of Wilson as an artist and the faith-infused Country that defines REBEL. Her commanding vocals lead the way as she revists the Kentucky roots that shaped her identity, from church pews and Sunday morning choirs, to mud tires and Friday night lights, Wilson shares what it’s like to grow up in the heart of the heartland. “I’ve got a good life down here, but a better one waiting up above me,” she boldly declares.

rebel

“I can’t wait for everyone to hear these brand new songs on April 19,” shares Wilson. “I’ve been working so hard over the past 15 months to write these songs, record them and get them into the world! I was raised on two things: the love of God and the love of all things Country. That’s what fuels the music I make and that’s what you’ll hear more of on REBEL. I’m just so excited we are this close to releasing the record!”

In addition to “God & Country” and her upcoming record, Wilson has been making waves with her current Country radio single, “Rain In The Rearview,” co-written with Matthew West, Jaren Johnston and Zach Kale. The transformative music video for the track exclusively debuted on CMT/Paramount Times Square billboards, CMTCMT Music and CMT.comlast Friday, just days after Wilson was revealed as a member of the coveted 2024 CMT Next Women of Country class. Meanwhile, “Strong” continues to stand firm at Christian radio – reaching the Top 15 at Billboard Christian Airplay and Mediabase Audience charts and climbing each week – marking two simultaneous radio singles for the “specially gifted” (The Tennessean) artist.

Elevation Rhythm & Forrest Frank Release “Praises (Remix)”

Today (Feb 2), Elevation Rhythm and Forrest Frank release “Praises (remix).”

ELEVATION RHYTHM and FORREST FRANK have collaborated to release “PRAISES (remix)” available today. The release is accompanied by a music video that is available now on YouTube (link below).

“It’s been really exciting to see how our listeners have connected with PRAISES over the past year,” states Davide Mutendji of ELEVATION RHYTHM. “It’s now one of our favorite songs to do live because of its fun energy and declarative lyrics! It’s turned into an anthem for anyone who refuses to let the world steal their ability to praise!”

“After sharing ELEVATION RHYTHM’s original version on my Instagram story, Josh Holiday reached out asking if I wanted to attempt a remix,” shares Forrest Frank. “I said YES & immediately heard in my head how I wanted it to feel: beachy, bouncy, and a little more resolution with the chord progression. I produced what I was hearing and nearly freestyled the verse in one take. Josh took what I sent and added depth/sauce that sent it to the finish line. I love how it sounds and am so stoked to finally have it out!”

The original version of “PRAISES” is from the 2023 release, This Is The Gospel, which is the group’s sophomore album. Birthed out of the church’s high-energy Wednesday night youth gatherings, ELEVATION RHYTHM is a group made up of a revolving reserve of diverse songwriters, creatives, and guest artists.
