NF Kicks Off The Hope Tour With Sold-Out Show In Columbus
Billboard chart-topping, multi-Platinum rapper/producer NF launched the HOPE TOUR last night with a sold-out show at Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH. The 31-city North American leg, which is produced by Live Nation, will continue on Friday, July 14, with a sold-out concert at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL.
The run, which is nearly sold out, includes stops in Grand Rapids, Newark, Boston, Anaheim, Denver, and more before wrapping up in Laval, QC at Place Bell on Sunday, September 3rd.
Special guest Cordae will open on all dates except July 28 and August 23 – 27. The European/UK leg of the tour, which kicks off September 23, is completely sold out. See below for the full itinerary.
Known for delivering quick-witted lyrics over hip-hop beats and cinematic production, NF has built an obsessively loyal fanbase that has established him as one of the most consumed artists today, generating over 30 billion combined global streams worldwide and touring that has sold over half a million tickets to date.
NF is touring in support of HOPE – his third studio album to debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and Top Rap Albums charts. It entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2. Seven of the album’s 13 tracks appeared on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in the week following the album’s release.
A global smash, HOPE charted at No. 1 in The Netherlands, New Zealand, and Switzerland as well as on the UK’s Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums Chart. HOPE has amassed nearly half a billion combined global streams to date.
The New York Times spotlighted the facetious “MOTTO,” and noted, “In his early career, NF sounded as if he was internalizing all the pressures of the world, but now he sounds free and calm, dismissing those same pressures with a shrug.”
Praising HOPE as an “often thrilling return” and “perhaps his most personal document yet,” Clash Music said,
“A record racked by self-doubt and the need to confront your expectations, the album wears its heart on its sleeve. Opening and title track ‘HOPE’ places the motto front and center: ‘What’s my definition of success? / Listening to what your heart says…’” View the visual for “HOPE”.
The album features guest appearances by Cordae on “CAREFUL” and Julia Michaels on “GONE.” AllMusic said, “[HOPE] finds the Michigan-born rapper building upon the emotional struggles that informed 2016’s Therapy Session and 2019’s The Search with a sense that there is often a light at the end of a dark tunnel.” Billboard observed, “NF remains one of the world’s biggest rappers…”
Praising the “soul-baring highlight” “HAPPY,” NME said, “he documents his ongoing mental health journey with brutal, utterly unbridled honesty.” As part of the “NME In Conversation” series, NF delves into a wide range of topics that include HOPE, fatherhood, OCD, and collaborating with Julia Michaels.
