Karen Peck & New River’s “The Keepers” Wins Southern Gospel Recorded Song Of The Year At 54th Annual GMA Dove Awards

Karen Peck & New River won Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for their single “The Keepers” at the 54th Annual GMA Dove Awards. Now a nine-time GMA Dove Award winning group, KPNR’s Karen Peck accepted the accolade as Christian artists and fans gathered on October 17th to celebrate Christian/Gospel music and the genre’s impact around the world.

“The Keepers,” pays homage to those who represent the hands and feet of Jesus without expectation of recognition. The song inspires all generations to be ‘keepers.’

Karen Peck celebrated the win by stating, ““The Keepers” is a testament to the power of faith, inspiration, and collaboration. We are humbled by this honor and grateful for the journey that brought us here. Special thanks to Pastor Calvin Ray Evans for preaching a powerful message about the ‘keepers’ in our lives.

He was the inspiration behind the song. I want to thank my amazing co-writers Tony Wood and Mitch Wong for getting the song to where it needed to be; producer Wayne Haun for his  incredible job conveying the message of “The Keepers”; and our incredible record company, Daywind Records, for believing in us. KPNR was formed 32 years ago. We are very thankful to the Lord for making the way and for keeping our music relevant and purposeful. We will keep persevering.”

Dusty Wells, director of artists and repertoire for Daywind Music Group, commented, “We here at Daywind are thrilled that Karen Peck & New River’s amazing song, “The Keepers,” from their GRAMMY and Dove nominated best-selling project 2:22, was named Southern Gospel Song of the Year at the 2023 GMA Dove Awards.

This song has touched countless lives, and we have all heard so many stories about the ‘keepers’ that we all have around us in our lives. We knew how special the song was the minute we heard it in our song selection meeting for the project. I love it when a song like this comes along and you see the impact of it night after night at the concerts. We are so excited and thankful for KPNR to receive this honor.”

Natalie Grant Debuts At No.1 With ‘Seasons’

Nine-time GRAMMY Award nominee and Curb | Word Entertainment artist Natalie Grant has earned her third No. 1 album on the Billboard Hot Christian Albums chart with the release of Seasons earlier this month.

This marks her first No. 1 album in eight years, since 2015’s Be One, and comes hot on the heels of Grant’s latest single, “You Will Be Found,” entering the Top 15 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart, marking her highest placement on that chart since her groundbreaking single “Held” in 2005.

Upon its release on October 6th, Seasons immediately debuted at No. 1 on iTunes following a moving performance of “You Will Be Found” on Fox & Friends and has received nearly 33 million streams across platforms.

“I’m just so grateful to continue doing what I love, and that people continue loving what I do!” shares Grant. “It’s all just such a gift. And to hear how these reimagined versions of classic songs are so deeply affecting people was the purpose behind this record in the first place. So, I feel very fulfilled today.”

Olivia Lane Signs To BEC Recordings

Singer-songwriter and TikTok sensation Olivia Lane has signed to BEC Recordings, rounding out her music focused team which includes GOA Music for booking, and First Company management’s Kacie Meyer.

Having been added to the SiriusXM The Message team of hosts, alongside industry vet Al Skop, earlier this year, Lane is prepping for the release of new music in 2024.

“Back in 2020 the Lord whispered to my heart to ‘make the music’ and that He would handle the rest,” says Lane. “Today I stand amazed at the team the Lord has placed in my path. I’m thrilled to be joining the BEC family as I truly feel they honor where I’ve come from as an independent artist and see the vision for where I need to grow. I can’t wait to see what else the Lord has in store!”

Brandon Ebel, President and Founder of BEC Recordings, says, “I first learned of Olivia Lane when my friend and colleague Jessie Reeves (of the band KingsPorch) co-wrote her song ‘Woman at the Well.’ I immediately connected with the song’s memorable sound and was moved by Olivia’s deeply felt lyrics. My team and I are honored to partner with Olivia and are looking forward to releasing the next chapter of her very special music.”

Lane, who documented her transformation from a non-believer to a faithful follower — or, as she calls it, “from atheist to amen” — in viral TikTok videos, joined SiriusXM’s Contemporary Christian channel, The Message (Ch. 63), as host of a new morning show in July. The Olivia Lane Show airs every weekday from 6am–12pm ET, where she shares faith, hope, and music, along with stories of encouragement.

“I can’t wait to share more about my new music, how it’s been led completely by the Lord and getting on the road to meet everyone in person. I am so grateful for this journey,” Lane says.
