The hit single “Praise,” from GRAMMY® Award-winning group Elevation Worship, has achieved No. 1 status this week across four radio charts, including Mediabase Christian Audience, Mediabase Christian AC, Billboard Christian Airplay, and Billboard Christian AC.

This week is also the 11th week in a row the viral tune has been on top of Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart. They achieved this same charting feat with “Same God” in 2023. “Praise” is Elevation Worship’s fifth No. 1 radio single and continues to garner more than five million weekly streams globally.

Their not-to-be-missed Praise Party Summer Tour kicks off in July, offering eight outdoor major-market shows including New York City’s Central Park, followed by the Elevation Nights fall run featuring Elevation Worship, Pastor Steven Furtick, and ELEVATION RHYTHM.

Review: “Sympathy Sonata (Rock Rhapsody)” by HeIsTheArtist (out on May24th)

Chart-topping Christian R&B artist, HeIsTheArtist, once again proves his musical prowess with his new single, “Sympathy Sonata (Rock Rhapsody)”. Set to release on May 24th, 2024, the song is an innovative blend of jazz and rock, inspired by the timeless Queen classic, “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

The song exhibits raw emotion and profound lyrical depth, a hallmark of HeIsTheArtist’s work. The lyrics, inspired by the line “I’m just a poor boy, I need no sympathy,” introduce listeners to themes of self-reflection and the struggle between self-pity and personal growth.

“Sympathy Sonata (Rock Rhapsody)” is a sonic journey, diving deep into emotional introspection. It’s edgy yet soulful, with a lyrical narrative that resonates with listeners navigating their own trials and tribulations. The song is a testament to the healing power of self-reflection, encouraging listeners to confront, rather than avoid, their struggles.

Moreover, HeIsTheArtist’s unique blend of Christian R&B and contemporary sounds remain evident in this single. His commitment to his faith shines through the music with spiritual themes derived directly from biblical teachings. His ability to intertwine spiritual messages into his music without sacrificing the song’s appeal is laudable.

The artist also hints at the upcoming full-length rock EP, which, if “Sympathy Sonata (Rock Rhapsody)” is any indication, will be an exciting fusion of sounds and messages that fans will undoubtedly enjoy.

The single’s lyrics are a mix of desperate pleas and introspective admissions, effectively conveying the struggle of coping with a difficult day. The repetition of the phrase “It’s been a rough day for me” punctuates the narrative, enhancing the song’s emotional impact.

In conclusion, “Sympathy Sonata (Rock Rhapsody)” is a compelling exploration of personal struggle and the power of self-reflection. With its unique blend of jazz and rock, coupled with its profound lyrical depth, the single is poised to captivate listeners and solidify HeIsTheArtist’s place in the Christian R&B genre.

Jason Gray Joins Jason Roy, Don Chaffer, Phil Joel For Newly Remastered “Our Common Home”

Critically acclaimed Centricity Music singer / songwriter Jason Gray adds his voice to the multi-artist A New Heaven And A New Earth project’s single, “Our Common Home,” which has been remastered and is available today (May 17) at digital and streaming outlets globally from The Fuel Music. Originally released Oct. 6, 2023 around the close of last year’s ecumenical Season of Creation, the single also features Jason Roy (Building 429), Don Chaffer (Waterdeep) and Phil Joel (Newsboys).

Church leaders from around the world welcomed the song with joy last fall, declaring, “These artists felt called to express how care for Creation glorifies God.” The note was signed by:

  • His Eminence Cardinal Peter K.A. Turkson, The Pontifical Academy of Sciences, The Vatican
  • His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, Ecumenical Patriarchate
  • The Most Reverend Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury
  • The Most Reverend Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop & Primate, The Episcopal Church
  • The Most Reverend Dr. Olav Fykse Tveit, Presiding Bishop, Church of Norway, former General Secretary of the World Council of Churches

“This kind note of welcome from international Church leaders is a testament to the spirit of ecumenical collaboration from which this project springs,” shares Reverend Séamus Finn, OMI, Director, OMI Justice Peace and Integrity of Creation.

Written by Chaffer, Joel and Gray, “Our Common Home” was inspired by Pope Francis’ 2015 Encyclical, Laudato si’, On Care for Our Common Home. This single from the A New Heaven And A New Earth project slated to premiere summer 2024 commemorates the Encyclical’s ninth anniversary.

“Our Common Home” is also heard in a short video documentary following the artists’ experience of singing songs from the A New Heaven And A New Earth recording at a concert held at the Vatican (Oct. 26, 2022). This documentary was filmed and directed by Joel’s daughter Phynley.

Stream & Enjoy

“This project has given me perspective, a greater conscientiousness about how closely tied care for Creation is to caring for the poor,” shares Gray.

Chaffer adds, “The more we discover about the connection between the health of the poor with the health of our earthly home, the more we’re inspired to pray, ‘Lord, we need to do better. Help us to do better.’”

“We are all coming from different places, gathering around a round table, all uniting around the fact that we need to take better care of this beautiful marble that we are all travelling around on,” sums up Joel.

Producing “Our Common Home” and singing and playing various instruments on the track, Roy says, “It was an honor to work on this song with these musical legends, these friends of mine.”
