Centricity Worship Songwriters, Friends Collaborate To Record Inspiring, Powerful New Songs

Centricity Worship, a division of Centricity Publishing, was created as a platform for song discovery with the goal of equipping the global Church with new and powerful worship songs. Originally formed during a series of songwriter retreats held in the Cascade Mountains, which birthed songs like Lauren Daigle’s “Come Alive (Dry Bones)” and Corey Voss’s “Nothing But The Blood,” these retreats became a part of the Centricity Worship DNA.

Continuing to give songwriters the opportunity to gather together in inspiring locations to compose new songs of worship for their Creator, Centricity Worship releases “You See Me (In Focus)” to digital and streaming outlets today (Oct. 29). Produced by Patrick Mayberry and featuring Rita Springer and Seth Condrey, the hopeful new song was written during the most recent retreat by Springer, Condrey and Matt Armstrong.

“[I’m] thankful for Seth and Rita, and their willingness to dive into a song that calls us to remember that Jesus is the same in our lives as He was yesterday, today, and forever,” shares Armstrong.

“I’d love for this song to bring an awareness of the presence of the God who sees,” adds Condrey. “Just like Jesus taught us, the Father sees who we are and cares for every detail. He is Love and can’t love us any more or less than He already does.”

You see me in focus

Where could I run that You couldn’t be found

I’ve never been closer than I am right now

You see me perfectly

Couldn’t love me more than You already do

This heart of mine is Yours; and it’s not gonna move

(Chorus lyric from “You See Me (In Focus)”)

“You See Me (In Focus)” is the first of several new songs to come from the recent Centricity Worship retreat, including the Mayberry, Chris McClarney and Mike Grayson-written “Only Jesus,” which is set to release Jan. 28. A full Centricity Worship + Friends EP of new music from the latest songwriter retreats is slated to release next spring.

“Centricity Publishing has been doing these worship retreats for years, and out of them have come some really powerful songs that have gone on to inspire worshipers around the world,” notes Chad Segura,Vice President, Centricity Publishing. “Along with our own team of writers, we always like to invite other talented songwriters from around the industry to these retreats as well. We love getting to do this with our friends. And in recording some of the favorite tunes from the resulting collaborations, our hope is that people will discover and connect with these songs, incorporating them into both their personal and corporate worship settings.”

The new music, along with ongoing contributions from Centricity Publishing’s songwriters and artists, make up a growing catalog of songs that are being shared with the masses. Chosen Road Brings ‘Appalachian Hymns’ Home November 12

Acclaimed bluegrass ensemble and Song Garden recording artist Chosen Road will release Appalachian Hymns November 12. Produced by the group’s Zachary Alvis and Tyler Robertson, the 12-song collection pairs the band’s unparalleled acoustic instrumentation and vocal harmonies with classic songs of faith and the Church.

The project’s cornerstone lead single and video, “Be Thou My Vision,” is one of the oldest hymns of the Church, bearing a message as timely today as when the words were first written centuries ago in Ireland. Chosen Road honors their Scotch-Irish heritage with the arrangement, featuring beautiful Celtic instrumentation and intricate harmonies. The track will be available October 29, in advance of the album release.

Other highlights of Appalachian Hymns include the rousing “Brethren We Have Met To Worship” (available November 5); the striking simplicity of “I Stand Amazed”; the gentle, guitar-driven “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”; the a cappella “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be”; and the crowd-pleasing instrumental “Send The Light.”

“For our first hymns record, we wanted to take traditional songs of the Church and pair them with our Appalachian acoustic instruments, while approaching the arrangements and musical settings in our own unique way,” said Chosen Road’s Jonathan Buckner. “When we were deciding what hymns to record, we were overwhelmed with the richness of Truth we found in these lyrics. We began to gravitate towards some of the older hymns and songs we have loved to hear audiences sing for years now. Many of these songs have likely been played on the same kinds of instruments we use, since our ancestors first settled in the Appalachian Mountains. That made both the song selection process, and actual recording, very meaningful and almost sacred for us.”

“Every song on the album points the listener to the Light of Christ and the Hope that is found in Him,” Buckner continues. “It is amazing what singing some of these old hymns can do for the soul when we are facing the unknown. As people listen and sing along to the music, we hope they are encouraged and reminded that God is in complete control. I know we were as we created this project, even though it was during one of the most uncertain times in our lives.”

Kierra Sheard Feat. Karen Clark Sheard Hit Single “Something Has to Break” Garners Double #1s at Gospel Radio

Award-winning artist, actress and entrepreneur Kierra Sheard hits #1 on two Gospel radio charts, with her latest single “Something Has to Break” (feat. Karen Clark Sheard), topping Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart and the MediaBase Gospel chart. The family duet with Kierra and her mother, Gospel icon Karen Clark Sheard, marks a milestone as the first mother-daughter duo to hit #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart.

The two vocal powerhouses deliver a transcendent worship experience in their live performance, inspiring strength and hope in God’s constancy and guidance. This latest chart success for “Something Has to Break” also marks Kierra’s fourth #1 overall on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart, following her third #1 for the hit single “It Keeps Happening,” which are both featured on her album KIERRA-Deluxe (Karew Entertainment/RCA Inspiration).

In addition to performing, Kierra continues to share the latest activities in her life with rehearsing, writing music, traveling, answering questions, tips on her vocal routine, self-care and more on her vlog series “Katching Kierra.” Kierra is also the creator of her fashion line Eleven60 and authored her first book earlier this year, with her memoir “Big, Bold, and Beautiful: Owning the Woman God Made You to Be.”

Kierra Sheard-Kelly returns to Lifetime next year in the original thriller, Line SistersLine Sisters follows four sorority sisters- Valerie (LeToya Luckett), Cassandra (Kierra Sheard-Kelly), Simona (Ta’Rhonda Jones;) and Dominique (Drew Sidora) – as they reunite at a Black Greek Weekend celebration held on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Having pledged the Alpha Beta Omega Sorority, Inc., they share more than the bonds of sisterhood, after the mysterious death of the dean of pledges 15 years prior. But the past comes knocking on their door as they arrive to the island and strange and inexplicable things begin to happen to each one of them, threatening to unearth the deadly secret that may tear them apart. Line Sisters is produced by Big Dreams Entertainment in association with Undaunted Content for Lifetime and is executive produced by D’Angela Proctor and Leslie Greif. Tailiah Breon directs from a script written by Jasmine S. Greene and Scott Mullen.

Tyscot Records Announces a New Signing Melissa Bethea, Releases New Single “You’re Coming Out”

If the voice of Melissa Bethea sounds familiar, maybe you’ve heard it on JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise tracks such as “No Holding Back” or the Top 30 hit, “You Are Worthy.”

Now, fans can hear her on her own, as the New Flavor Entertainment production duo of  Clarence Singleton and Eric Davis, and Tyscot Records have partnered to release the Newark, Jersey native’s poignant new track, “You’re Coming Out” (New Flavor Entertainment /Tyscot).

It was written by Singleton,  a seasoned songwriter and producer (Byron Cage, Marvin Sapp, Hezekiah Walker), and Davis, a producer who’s co-written a dozen of J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise’s big radio hits such as “After This”, “Lord of All”, and “Resting on His Promise.”

“This song is my personal testimony about overcoming infertility,” Bethea says of the power ballad. “Five years into our marriage, my husband, Joseph, and I tried to have a baby. The first trimester there was no heartbeat. Then, it happened again, and I had a miscarriage. I said to myself, `Lord, why can’t I carry a child?’ Then, God told me that He’d give me a miracle in six months. Nothing happened for six months. At the end of that six months, I finally got pregnant and eventually had my daughter, Jade, who will be three years old in November. She’s, my miracle.”

Bethea feels the song will resonate with others going through hard times. “There’s so much going on right now with COVID-19,” she says. “People need to feel encouraged about coming out on the other side of this pandemic.  Those who made it through and those who are still here, you are definitely coming out strong.” Meanwhile, the talented trio is hard at work on Bethea’s first full-length album. “I believe the album will be used to encourage, uplift, and inspire,” she says. “So many people need hope because they’ve lost so much with this pandemic This is going to refresh, revive, renew, and point people to Jesus.”
