Leigh Nash & Stephen Wilson Jr. Get Real About Relationships In New Song & Video “Made For This”

Leigh Nash and her husband, Stephen Wilson Jr., are pulling back the curtain on the often-bumpy journey of marriage in their new song, “Made For This.” The Nashville-based couple penned the intimate track a few months into the Covid-19 quarantine. “I wrote this song about the pandemic at first, but I realize it’s actually about all of us, the struggles we go through in everyday life, and the ability we have as humans to be truly resilient,” said Nash. “The pandemic simply served to put a magnifying glass on it and forced us to examine ourselves — and each other — more closely.”

“The pandemic wasn’t easy on any relationship at times, I’m sure. We were no different,” said Wilson. “This song came from a very raw place. We love like hell and fight like hell, too!”

Set against a pounding heartbeat of drums, “Made For This,” produced by Grammy nominated Butch Walker (Fallout Boy, Rob Thomas), takes listeners on a ride through the emotional ups and downs of daily life. These scenes play out in the video — a constant flow of everyday moments culminating in a choice: stick it out or pack it all up?

A couple with a self-described “fiery relationship,” the pair were inspired by an article about Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest’s marriage that discussed how in any relationship, if you stay on the bus long enough, the scene will change.

Nash recently signed with Nashville-based Visionary Media Group, who produced the stunning “Made For This” video. The Grammy-nominated lead singer of Sixpence None the Richer, Nash has released three prior solo albums, with a new full-length release planned for this fall that is filled with notable collaborations.

A childhood Golden Gloves boxing finalist, Wilson taught himself to play guitar as a teen. He turned from boxing to microbiology after graduating from MTSU before finding his home in music, touring and playing with his indie rock band, AutoVaughn. He soon left the road and settled in Nashville, working as a food scientist by day and musician by night. In 2016, Wilson signed a publishing deal with BMG Nashville and focused all his energy on making music. He has had songs recorded by Old Dominion, Brothers Osbourne, Tim McGraw, and Trace Atkins, among others, and is now releasing his own music that reflects upon his life and explores the entire emotional spectrum: fear, joy, nostalgia, empowerment, remorse.

Tamela Mann Releases New Album ‘Overcomer’ August 6th

Some albums are destined for a certain time. After several years of evolution and change in her life, Grammy Award-Winning Artist, NAACP Image Award-Winning Actress, Songwriter, and Producer, Tamela Mann, is set to release her new Tillymann Music album, Overcomer, through The Orchard Distribution on Friday, August 6. There is a new sense of authority and urgency in Tamela’s music now; she has lived these songs and is ready to share the strength and purpose she has found.

Propelled by the singer’s strong, passionate vocals, and her newfound voice as a songwriter, each of the 12 tracks on Overcomer was conceived to bring healing and hope to a world resetting after a tumultuous chapter in its history. There is plenty to unpack from a lyrical standpoint, and Tamela is at the writing helm on most of the songs.

“I poured my experiences into the lyrics, putting my heart and soul into the words on this album,” Tamela says. “It’s me looking at my life and the things I was dealing with, trying to learn from those things, and doing what I can to overcome them.”

Overcomer may be Tamela’s best work to date. Each song stands on its own as a masterful production. The album was executive produced by Tamela and her husband, Music Producer and NAACP Image Award-Winning Actor/Comedian, David Mann, with production quarterbacked by a cadre of all-star producers and writers. Special guests include Kirk Franklin and Wyclef Jean on the stand-out track melding R&B, reggae, rap, and gospel, “Hello God;” Todd Dulaney on the worshipful “Finished Work;” Travis Green, the co-writer and producer of the anthemic “Finished;” and The Fellas, on her current single, “Help Me.” “Touch From You,” the debut single from the album, added to Tamela’s bank of personal bests; the track was her seventh No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart. “Source” and “He Did It For Me” are two other standouts. Says Tamela of the inspiration behind the lyrics for them both: “God is the source and my go-to when I’m lost. I can’t do anything without Him, and I never want to try to.”

Overcomer is the latest accomplishment and centerpiece in Tamela’s busy career. In Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living (BET+), she reprises her role as “Cora,” which she originated in Perry’s successful “Madea” plays, films, and hit television show, Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns. She and David released their first book and joint album, the NAACP Image Award-winning Us Against the World. She is starring in two upcoming films: the Tyler Perry “Madea” movie coming to Netflix and Soul Santa airing this Christmas on BET, which she executive produced with David. Tamela also launched her own successful athleisure apparel line, the Tamela Mann Collection (tamelamann.com). The line has become a popular staple in the athleisure apparel space.

Tamela has always created art that encourages people and draws them closer to their faith. Her hit-laden music career includes such memorable songs as “Change Me,” “God Provides,” and the unforgettable, No. 1 Platinum-selling classic, “Take Me to the King.” Tamela has earned numerous accolades. In addition to scoring a Grammy, she is a BET Award winner, Billboard Music Award winner, and multiple Gospel Music Stellar Award, NAACP Image Award, and GMA Dove Award winner.

“I love butterflies. I feel like I’m coming out of the cocoon again, energized and on fire,” says Tamela, who underwent surgery to have both her knees replaced in the summer of 2019. After taking some time to work on her health and wellness, and a fresh creative mindset, she’s stepping forward a changed woman to express her heart and soul. “This is new music for a new time and a new me,” she says.

If someone were to ask the singer/songwriter what her greatest wish was for this album, says Tamela Mann: “My heart’s desire is to give people hope and let them know there’s still compassion in the world. It’s the opportunity for me again to show God’s love and His grace. That’s my purpose in life and for Overcomer.”

The mission for the song is to inspire, encourage, and spread the love so it was really special to be part of this project, especially in celebration of Juneteenth as the date became recognized as a national holiday.” – Ciara

“These lessons that I’ve learned in this year about my struggles and hardships make me feel so much closer and connected to my ancestors and guides…Being a close child of God I understand that one of my responsibilities is to always give God the glory and praise that he is due FIRST….I’m always so glad to do so. Thank you to @maverickcitymusic for having me a part of this project.” – Tamar Braxton

[Music] Eden in Me – Sarai Korpacz

Based in New York, but with a remarkable backstory that stretches across the world to Africa, Christian singer, songwriter, and recording artist Sarai Korpacz is certainly an artist that inspires. Building off of the momentum of several successful releases in a row over the last year-plus, the interest in her work just continues to rise.

Her latest, “Eden in Me” is being released in both audio and video form, showcasing not just her heavenly voice, but also Sarai’s ability as a songwriter to take Biblical ideas and translate them in a way that listeners can relate to and enjoy, as she educates.

“Eden in Me” is a song with the potential to reach the center of the heart. Creating awareness of God’s love, and allowing listeners to see themselves through God’s perspective is what Sarai always wants to communicate.

The passionate Sarai always commented saying; “In Genesis, we are told that God would visit Adam and Eve in the cool of the day. “Sin separated us from that perfect rest with God, but Jesus reconciled us back to the father. Each time we avail ourselves to commune with God; we create that place that Eden stood for.

“Eden in Me” is about God’s children as living gardens of Eden existing here on earth. We are portals to God’s divine presence. Zephaniah 3:17 says, “He rejoices over us with singing.” So, as we worship the Father, He first has been rejoicing over us as He is our creator.”

Sarai continued, “I hope the words of this song leave no doubt in the listener’s heart that the Lord longs to find that resting place in our hearts and minds. In return we give Him back the Eden that He placed within us, for we are His children.”

As always, the production of both the song and the video for “Eden in Me” has been held to the highest standards. This is her first single in 2021 is available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and the rest of the major streaming platforms.

The music video itself was shot in Hawaii, a remarkable experience, with Sarai describing the beauty of Hawaii as, “a wonderful representation of an Eden that we can all relate with.”

Chris Renzema Releases Highly Anticipated Third Album September 3

Acclaimed singer / songwriter Chris Renzema releases two songs today (June 25) from his third full-length and second Centricity Music album, Get Out of the Way of Your Own Heart, which is set to release Sept. 3 and is available to preorder / add / save now. The double-sided single includes both the title track and “Stronger Love (feat. Leeland),” each with lyrics that cut to the bone while singing about hope and echoing the universality of both pain and praise.

The progression to the new album began with more than 36 million audio streams of Renzema’s independent project, I’ll Be The Branches, that was a personal, but less autobiographical, worship album. This recording was followed by the sophomore, Centricity Music debut Let The Ground Rest that sparked more than 90 million streams and began to reveal more of his life story weaved into the songs. Receiving well-over one million Spotify track saves over the last year, a 2020 Pandora “Artist to Watch” nod and a GMA Dove Award nomination for “New Artist of the Year,” Get Out of the Way of Your Own Heart continues Renzema’s more personal trajectory.

“I feel like a lot of what I was struggling with over the last year-and-a-half was mostly about me standing in my own way,” shares Renzema. “In the song, ‘Get Out of the Way of Your Own Heart,’ the lyric of the bridge encourages, Take yourself down off the line, give yourself a little grace. A lot of this new album is me trying to express and process feeling a little subpar and trying to allow myself to feel OK and to be a little nicer to myself.”

Along with the title track, this unique thematic mix is apparent in “Stronger Love,” which was co-written by and features Leeland Mooring. “We wrote ‘Stronger Love’ when things were viscerally divided in our nation, with culture preaching that the solution was somewhere within ourselves. So the song became about having an anchor and a hope in something bigger than us,” relays Renzema.

“Honestly, a lot of the sounds and songs on this record are coming from a place of like, ‘man I wish I could be playing fun music again live’,” continues Renzema. “This new album is very much geared towards being played in concerts, sang along to, rocked out to.”

Like his desire for real connections, music fans are responding similarly, scarfing up tickets as Renzema gears up for his 29-city, 32 concert “Hope or Nostalgia” fall tour. With sell-outs already logged, the tour has added second shows in select markets as ticket sales for every concert are nearing capacity.

Norden Pass Releases Perspective-Shifting New Single “God Of Miracles”.

Inspirational worship-pop duo Norden Pass announces the much-anticipated release of their third internationally released single, “God of Miracles”, to all streaming outlets as of June 25, 2021.

The song is the first one of 2021 for the group — made up of Tuakah Edward Whiangar Jr. and Micah Reierson — and continues Norden Pass’s signature contributions to the modern worship landscape, both lyrically and musically.

“I’ve never been this excited about a song release!” Whiangar shares. “It’s been a long time coming.”

With “God of Miracles”, songwriters Whiangar, Jonathan Gamble, and Jason Earley penned lyrics that challenge believers to view the obstacles of life the way God does, as opportunities for Him to show up.

“When we live our lives intentionally being aware of the presence of the Lord around us, we can begin to experience a peace within our current battle,” Reierson shares. “This song has continued to minister to me throughout the different hardships of the last year.”

The first words of the song capture the heart of this perspective shift: “When I see canyons, You see grounds you’re gonna move / When I see mountains, You see peaks you’ll take me to.”

Produced by Christian Hale of Centricity Music, “God of Miracles” continues to bring Norden Pass’s big, atmospheric modern worship sound, paired with soulful pop vocals and a rare synergy of acoustic and electronic instruments.

The June 25 single release is the first for Norden Pass since July of 2020, when they released “The Rock.” In March of 2020 they released their debut single, “Heaven’s on the Way.” This slow, methodical approach to releasing music shows how much Norden Pass puts into each track they release.

The words Norden Pass shared with their college campus newspaper as a new band in 2018 still apply today.

“Making music is a journey,” Whiangar shared with The USF Vessel. “I would say that I’m not the same person I was yesterday. I’m not the same person that I was at the start of this project; I have grown.”

Like the singles before it, “God of Miracles” shows Norden Pass’s commitment to honing their craft and tapping into a holy moment.

“God offers us an invitation from death to life through his son Jesus Christ,” Whiangar says. “Our prayer is that our music continues to point people to a place where they can respond to this invitation!”

Melanie Waldman Bows Timely “Come Back (Psalm 80)” Ahead Of Full-Length Fall Set

“Come Back (Psalm 80),” the latest single from acclaimed singer/songwriter and worship leader Melanie Waldman, is now available. Penned by Waldman and produced by Waterdeep’s Lori Chaffer, the song is a gentle, yet urgent, plea inviting the Lord’s return and the restoration of His people. “Come Back” is the second single from Waldman’s forthcoming PSALMSONGS full-length set.

“In 2020, I started singing through the Psalms to draw close to God,” Waldman shares. “Without worry for genre, structure, rhyming, or any of the usual songwriter rules, I explored a wide-open canvas. With each Psalm I drew from an array of musical influences I have enjoyed throughout my life. It just so happens that I wrote ‘Come Back’ as I had been on a kick of listening to lo-fi beats, and this really comes through in Lori Chaffer’s production of the song.”

“In Psalm 80, the psalmist pleads for his nation, God’s chosen vine,” she explains. “He urges God to ‘come back and restore us.’ There are no coincidences, and I didn’t plan it. I didn’t choose this specific Psalm or write this song on behalf of our nation. Nonetheless, it’s clear to me that ‘Come Back’ is a plea for our world today. It’s as relevant today as it ever was. The song is a cry for our nations to return to the Lord, and for restoration at His hand.”

“Come Back (Psalm 80)” follows the album’s debut single, “Praise the Name,” which released in March. Waldman is also set to bow additional singles ahead of the nine-track PSALMSONGS release in October.

As a worship leader, speaker and songwriter, Melanie Waldman creates songs and cultivates worship experiences that help restore hope by reminding people who they are, and that God is always at work in their lives. Haunted by a childhood of darkness, fear and abuse, and a young adulthood of suppressed feelings, manipulation and lies, Waldman’s life was changed forever in a miraculous personal encounter with Jesus. With a mission to encourage and inspire others to press on to the great fullness that awaits in Christ, Waldman’s powerful testimony is the heartbeat of her ministry. She and her husband, Scott, split their time between New Jersey and Nashville.
