Caroline Cobb Set To Release Her First Book September 24

B&H Publishing announces the release of songwriter and storyteller Caroline Cobb’s first book, Advent for Exiles, releasing September 24th. This special advent devotional will feature 25 devotions to awaken Christmas hope in a longing heart. Preorder this Scripture-rich companion for the Advent season now.

In 2020, Cobb released A Seed, A Sunrise, an album that explored the ache of Advent, the joy of Christmas, and the expectant yearning for Christ’s return. That album inspires this Advent devotional as she dives deeper into the poetic imagery of Isaiah and the biblical theme of exile.

“After releasing my Christmas album, I began work on this ’side project,’” shares Caroline Cobb. “But in the writing, I discovered the album had barely scratched the surface for me. I wanted to dive deeper into the poetic imagery of Isaiah, draw more connections between our current experience and the biblical theme of exile, and help readers imaginatively engage in the ache of Advent as a way of expanding their joy at Christ’s coming. Advent for Exiles is the fruit of more than two years of writing and wrestling this deep dive into words.”

Throughout the 25-day devotional, Cobb weaves Scripture readings, song lyrics, poetic prose, biblical imagery, and responsive exercises to help readers joyfully celebrate Christ’s first arrival while deeply longing for His second.

She adds, “This devotional is written for those who have felt—or at least feel ready to acknowledge—the long groan of exile. We need Advent companions willing to recognize the darkness around and within. Only then will we be able to fully rejoice in the arrival of Jesus, the Light of the world. I pray Advent for Exiles will do just that.”

What others are saying about Advent for Exiles:

Advent for Exiles weaves a glorious tapestry of good news that will help you experience Advent in a meaningful new way.”  —Ruth Chou Simons, Wall Street Journal bestselling author, artist, and founder of gracelaced.com

“I love a good Advent devotional, and this is a great one. Infused with a beautifully coherent, biblically rich exilic theme throughout, Caroline Cobb’s Advent for Exiles takes the reader deeper into a full-Bible understanding of Advent. Including Scripture passages, poetic song lyrics, and responses in prayer and practice, Advent for Exiles is an engaging resource to enhance you and your family’s Advent season.”  —Brett McCracken, senior editor, The Gospel Coalition, author of The Wisdom Pyramid: Feeding Your Soul in a Post-Truth World

Advent for Exiles stands out from any devotional I’ve come across. This book not only compels readers to love the story of Scripture more but also encourages weary exiles to find hope in Christ – engaging our senses and imagination with biblical truth. It is a deeply encouraging read that will move you to rejoice in Christ’s first coming and yearn for his return—a perfect choice for the Advent season.” —Hunter Beless, Founder of Journeywomen Ministries and author of Read it, See it, Say it, Sing it!

Scotty Inman Hosts 3rd Annual Hometown Show August 17

Excitement is building for Scotty Inman’s 3rd Annual Hometown Show, being held in the heart of the Smoky Mountains in Sevierville, TN on August 17th, 2024.  The highly anticipated event will not only feature brand new music from the award-winning singer/songwriter, but also include very special guest Dan Dean, of the legendary group Phillips, Craig & Dean.

An added bonus for Hometown Show attendees, the event is being held in the very building Scotty grew up going to church: The Chapel at FBC Sevierville.

“This is always an exciting event for me,” shares Inman. “For the last three years, I’ve been able to invite friends from all over the country to Sevierville, TN, where I grew up, and come together for a night of worship and fun. This year is different in that I’m having it in the sanctuary where I spent many Sundays in my early, formative years.  Since then, the church has grown and moved to a newer space, but I wanted to bring everyone back to my roots.”

The night of music will include selections from Scotty Inman’s sophomore album, My God, including the new radio single, “Man On The Middle Cross.”  Additionally, fans will be delighted to hear brand new music from Dan Dean. “I probably listened to Phillips, Craig & Dean more than any other artist in my teenage years, and Dan Dean was a voice I always thought was super special,” comments Inman on his special guest. “Years went by, and now I can call him a dear friend! I am excited about him joining us for this Hometown Show and singing not only some of his amazing hit songs, but some brand new music as well.  I know that folks are going to love him as much as I do!”

Grace Graber Launches Tickets To The Breakthrough Live Streaming Experience Ahead Of Upcoming Album

Pop punk songstress Grace Graber is inviting fans to be the first to experience her upcoming album The Breakthrough during an intimate streaming event.

“I hope people see how much work doing an album takes,” the singer and songwriter offers, reflecting on the behind-the-scenes look that the livestream will provide. “I want people to see how much I wanted my dreams to come true not just for me, but for my younger self as well. I hope that people can sit in the excitement and the accomplishment that we all did together.”

The Breakthrough album is the culmination of a year of power-packed singles from Graber, firmly establishing her as a rising punk voice that demands to be heard. Following in the mental health-focused footsteps of her Conversations EP, Grace is continuing to talk about hard things — and continuing to connect the heaviness to hope.

Grace shares, “The Breakthrough summarizes my last two EPs, Conversations and In My Head. I was so in my head about introducing myself and finally getting a shot at my dream and doing it all right. Then Conversations was me realizing, no one told me what my dreams being made real would cost. I think The Breakthrough is realizing I can take those two things now, and they’re just pieces of my life. God’s going to bring all of these projects, all of these songs, together to shine His light— just like a disco ball. They’ll shine His light and reflect it in a very special way.”

So far, fans have been treated to album singles like “Grace of God,” “No Regrets,” “Solo” and “Breakthrough,” all of which herald the punk-infused authenticity to come from the full album.

Ben Roberts of Common Noble collaborated with Grace Graber to produce the live experience. To create full band presentation of the songs, Graber called on the talents of Ross Black, Hayden Kane and David Roberts. Forever focused on creating in community, the songwriter enlisted another artist friend, Ben Roberts, to film the experience while Andrew COJO mixed the live audio. Grace built the set herself.

“I made the whole backdrop out of PVC pipe and some sparkly decorations I found on Amazon,” the artist recalls.

The dazzling result will be the best way for fans to celebrate the arrival of this life-changing collection of songs.

Hillsong Young & Free Founding Member Aodhán King Partners With LANY’s Paul Klein For His Solo Debut Single

Aodhán King, founding member of multi-award winning group Hillsong Young & Free, makes his solo debut with the release of his new single, “Thank You So Much Jesus (feat. Paul Klein),”(Anotherland / Capitol Christian Music Group) now available on all major streaming platforms. This highly-anticipated track was written by Aodhán King, Ben Tan, and LANY’s Paul Klein, and produced by Ben Tan and award-winning industry veteran Jason Ingram.

In discussing the inspiration behind the song, the GRAMMY-nominated Australian artist shared, “For generations, people from all walks of life have tried to articulate how truly incredible Jesus is. It doesn’t always look or sound the same, but with every story and every song we are given another glimpse into the depths of His infinite love and kindness. What else is there to say but ‘thank you so much, Jesus’, for everything: for the cross, for the grace that we don’t deserve, and for the love that flips our world upside down, giving us a purpose and hope for the future. I don’t know about you, but I never wanna outgrow just simply saying thank you.”

Aodhán’s journey to this release has been a profound one, characterized by gratitude and growth. “It’s taken me a long time to get to this moment of releasing music. Each step of the process has felt completely out of my control and as frustrating as that was, I look back now and I’m so grateful for the doors that were opened, and for those that were closed, cause they led me here, not exactly what I thought, but precisely what I needed and more.”

“Thank You So Much Jesus” originated from a heartfelt conversation between Aodhán and his close friends Ben Tan and Paul Klein. Aodhán expressed his deep connection to the song, having collaborated with Ben for over ten years and maintaining a strong friendship with Paul since their meeting at church in 2014. He emphasized the sacred space he aimed to create through his music, inviting others to freely worship God.

“From the beginning, I was adamant that I wanted to create a sacred place for anybody to come and worship God freely. More specifically, I wanted to include the voices and artistry of my friends who love God and love worship but haven’t necessarily had the ability to do it in this way. Paul is that.”

Aodhán found his passion for music during high school while volunteering at Hillsong’s youth ministry. As a founding member of the twice GRAMMY-nominated band Hillsong Young & Free, King has achieved remarkable success, including over 1.2 billion streams in North America, multiple #1 singles, and performances at over 225 live events worldwide.

Aodhán has made significant contributions to beloved anthems such as Hillsong Young & Free’s “Sinking Deep” and “Highs and Lows,” Hillsong UNITED’s “Whole Heart (Hold Me Now),” and many more, showcasing his authentic storytelling and captivating melodic sensibilities.

Amy Grant To Releases ‘HOUSE OF LOVE’ Expanded Anniversary Edition September 27

On September 27th, six-time GRAMMY-winner Amy Grant will release the House Of Love Expanded Anniversary Edition.

Available today is the digital single “Politics Of Kissing,” which, like several selections on this edition, has never been available digitally and was originally only released on the UK version of House Of Love in 1994.  Pre-Order packages are also now available at AmyGrant.com, including an Ultimate Fan Pack, featuring the (double) vinyl with a signed and numbered insert, a vintage House of Love tee and tote, water bottle, and a four-pack of photos from the original photoshoot.

“Gathering the materials for this Expanded Anniversary Edition of House Of Lovebrought a flood of memories back to me,” recalls Grant.

“Those days were full of dreams coming true and lots of irons in the fire. A circle of extended family and friends helped us share the load of caring for our young family, planning a big tour and creating music that would be the follow-up to the magical time of Heart In Motion.  We were managing the joyful chaos of life; riding a big wave and hoping not to wipe out.  I love the songs on House Of Love and am excited to release all the music made in that time…the b-sides, all the remixes and the newly re-imagined versions of select songs.”

With multiple formats, House Of Love Expanded Anniversary Edition will be available for the very first time on (double) vinyl with a signed and numbered insert. The LP will include 19 tracks: 11 original album tracks plus b-sides, re-mixes and a newly reimagined version of “Oh How The Years Go By” by Keith Thomas. It will also be accessible as a double CD and digital album with 30 tracks including the tracks above plus additional remixes, radio versions and a newly re-imagined version of “Helping Hand” by Tommy Sims. Track listings for all formats are listed below.

A true goldmine for Grant fans, the anniversary edition features alternate versions of songs including “House Of Love” (Michael Omartian version) which was originally titled, “Any Amount Of Money” as well as “Oh How The Years Go By” (Keith Thomas Version). For the listener, these versions provide a deeper glimpse into how a song can develop over time and be interpreted differently by the two producers of the original album.

Additionally, there are bonus tracks included that were ‘B-Sides’ of radio singles originally released in limited distribution or only available in certain territories but are now available in this collection including “Life’s Gonna Change” and “Politics Of Kissing.” Rounding out this edition are several remixes of radio singles, “Lucky One,” “House Of Love” and the incredible cover of the Joni Mitchell classic, “Big Yellow Taxi.”

Most recently, Grant and husband Vince Gill also announced the September 13th release of When I Think Of Christmas, a treasury of seasonal songs that capture the spirit of their much-loved “Christmas at the Ryman” concerts.  The album contains remastered versions of nine of their Yuletide favorites, plus two new recordings: “When I Think Of Christmas” (Amy Grant) and “’Til The Season Comes ‘Round Again.” (Amy Grant & Vince Gill)

This fall finds Grant touring across the country September through November leading up to Grant and Gill’s annual Ryman residency each December.  All tour dates, tickets and more can be found at AmyGrant.com.

New Marvin Sapp Album ‘Then & Now’ Available August 30

Gospel music luminary Marvin Sapp is set to release his 16th album, Then & Now, on August 30th. It will be the second album released on Elev8 Media & Entertainment, his independent label.

Recorded live at Valley Kingdom MinistriesThen & Now is Sapp’s 16th album release. During the evening of the recording, Sapp dazzled the capacity crowd with powerful new songs as well as refreshed favorites from his more than 30-year career in music.

For almost two hours, Sapp – accompanied by a powerhouse band and extraordinary background vocalists – kept the crowd on its feet. The energy in the room was electrifying the entire evening. Then & Now is the culmination of that memorable night: a collection of live music from Marvin Sapp, pristinely mastered for perpetuity.

“I’m really proud of this album; I think it sounds incredible,” says Sapp. “I enjoyed working with some new creatives who helped me bring to life this vision of doing a record that feels like a live Marvin Sapp concert – with some tried and true favorites sprinkled in with new songs. On the back end, I enlisted veteran mixers to ensure a high-quality sound – that’s where the magic happens when it comes to producing a live record. I can only hope that everyone who listens to it is blessed by it, but I had an absolute blast recording Then & Now.

One of the new creatives that Sapp worked with was Curtis Lindsey. Although Lindsey has been a member of Sapp’s band for over a decade, he took the helm as Music Director for this project.

“Marvin Sapp is a legend. I was humbled and honored for him to bring me on as music director. It was a highlight of my career. Recording in my hometown of Chicago, a place that also loves Marvin Sapp, added to the joy of bringing Then & Now to life,” says Lindsey.

Marvin Sapp is known for delivering rich live recording experiences that translate into musical masterpieces. His platinum-selling album Thirsty was recorded live, in addition to Here I Am (2010), You Shall Live (2015), and Chosen Vessel (2020).
