The President of the Christ Apostolic Church, Pastor Samuel Oladele, has employed Christians to vote for candidates who will protect the cause and interest of Christianity in Nigeria.
Pastor Oladele gave this advice in his address at the annual 2022 Pastors Conference of the CAC, held at the Babalola International Miracle Camp in Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State on Wednesday. The four-day conference was themed, ‘ Grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.’
In his words, “Throughout the course of human history, God has always sought men and women to stand for Him in the place of leadership – like Joseph in Egypt, David before Goliath the Philistine, Esther in Shushan, and Daniel in Babylon.
“The forthcoming general election is one that we must be interested in, as we cannot afford to remain complacent while that affect our faith are being made. We shall be guided by the criteria provided by the Christian Association of Nigeria for the election of our next set of political leaders in Nigeria.
” I urge you to vote for candidates who will protect the cause and interest of Christianity in Nigeria. I make bold to declare loud and clear that the interest of the kingdom of God and of His Christ is more important than all other interests. Hence, the interest of God’s kingdom must guide our consideration of who to vote for in the forthcoming general election in Nigeria.
He said, “It is an undeniable fact that we are in dire strait as a nation. The continued decline of socio-economic infrastructures as well as the nonchalance of those who are entrusted to provide the desired solution to these problems, calls for concern.
“However, we are not without hope because we have a God who rules in the affairs of men. Let us continue to call upon Him while we play our roles as responsible citizens of Nigeria. Righteousness remains the panacea to the reproach of our nation, Nigeria. Let us not only preach it but practice righteousness.”
Pastor Samuel Oladele also warned pastors to avoid gross insubordination and misconduct and otherwise face appropriate disciplinary measures and possible demotion from their present positions.
“Postings It is considered a vital part of our sacred duty to obey the Church Authority in matters of transfers/postings Hence, all forms of intrigues either to influence or resist postings/transfer are considered unrighteous. Specifically. any pastor/minister who refuses to go on transfer from one station to another and goes ahead to incite Church Elders Council/members to achieve the same shall be considered to have committed an act of gross insubordination and necessary disciplinary measures shall be applied.
“We have observed that some Pastors divert/misappropriate monies that they are supposed to remit to the Genera Secretariat, while some others suppress proceeds from our publication. Henceforth, such actions shall be treated as theft and those culpable shall be made to face appropriate disciplinary measures, including refund of such money suspension and possible demotion from their present position,”.

Bart Herbison, Executive Director of the NSAI, presented him with the award on the historic Ryman Auditorium stage applauding his accomplishments.
West is notably the first predominantly Christian artist to win the award in over 20 years. Showcasing his latest number one hit, the honoree opened the ceremony to perform a duet version of “Me On Your Mind” with Anne Wilson.
The excitement didn’t stop there – the following night (9/21), the genre hitmaker received seven ASCAP Christian Music Awards, including Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year for his work on Wilson’s breakout smash “My Jesus,” and recognized for his five most performed cuts: “Look What You’ve Done,” by Tasha Layton, “My Jesus” by Anne Wilson, “Scars in Heaven” by Casting Crowns, “Weary Traveler” by Jordan St Cyr and his own track “What If.” The ceremony, which was held virtually, celebrated the writers and publishers of the most performed Christian songs of the past year. The new anthem and project as a whole embodies the countless stories fans have shared with the songwriter over the years and the importance of keeping God at the forefront.
“What an honor to receive this award from NSAI! I was humbled to be standing on stage at the Ryman Auditorium being recognized in front of a room full of the best songwriters in the world. I was told this was only the 2nd time in 50 years that my award went to a Christian artist. I am so proud to represent the genre Christian music at this year’s awards.”
“Thank you ASCAP for being such a great partner throughout my career and thank you for these awards! Although I wear many hats, I have always considered myself a songwriter first and foremost. So to receive this recognition among my peers means so much to me. I’ve had the privilege of making my own records as well as writing with some incredible artists over the years. I’m thankful to all of these artists for allowing me to be creative with them! Special thanks to Anne Wilson and Jeff Pardo, my co-writers on the song of the year, ‘My Jesus’. What a ride this has been! Thanks to God for these amazing blessings!”

Songwriter, performing artist, author, and podcaster Mike Donehey is set to release his second book, Grace in the Gray, early next year. Pre-order for the book is available now ahead of its January 17, 2023 release. Donehey shares about the heart behind his new project below.
Grace in the Gray.
It started with a single comment.
“Mike, I can’t believe the way you disagree with people. It isn’t teeming with anger like I’ve come to expect. Your discourse is brimming with compassion and curiosity. I think I’m learning how to argue by watching you.”
Alright. Maybe it wasn’t those exact words. But it was definitely something close to it.
Funny, because I never would have considered myself a gracious debater. I know I didn’t used to be anyway. I used to have to win. All the time, and at all costs.
But perhaps mercy really is beginning to have its way in me, because over the last few years I’ve begun to wonder which is more important. Is it my position? Or is it my posture? Maybe it’s both. Maybe love without truth isn’t love, and truth without love isn’t truth. Maybe disagreement isn’t the sign that something is wrong with my relationships, maybe it’s the evidence that I actually have relationships in the first place. If everyone in my life agrees with me about everything all the time, maybe that’s just a sign that I’ve only really been in a relationship with myself.
Maybe disagreement doesn’t have to be filled with anger, but could be fueled by love.
Honestly, I didn’t think I’d write another book this quickly, but the pandemic changed a lot for everyone didn’t it? For me, it changed my approach. I quickly realized, pecking away my opinions behind the shield of a screen and a block button, I might have been helping myself feel superior, but I wasn’t helping others feel loved. Now, I’m not saying it’s all about feelings, but I wrote this book, because I began to realize how curiosity and kindness have done more to change my heart than a thousand contentious debates ever could. And maybe that’s also true for how we change the world.
Maybe. Maybe there really is a more loving way. Maybe. Come and see.
My new book, “Grace in the Gray” A More Loving Way to Disagree is finished and ready for pre-order. January 17, 2023 It can’t come soon enough.
In case you missed it, two-time GRAMMY-nominated family band We The Kingdomjoined The Recording Academy’s “Positive Vibes Only” series for a performance of “Miracle Power,” a song off their self-titled sophomore album (out 9.16 via Capitol CMG).
“Miracle Power” is just one of 13 dynamic tracks that journey through a genre-transcending blend of rock, country and gospel, drawing on decades-worth of inspiration and music influences in a way only a multi-generational family band can.
The group’s live show is also a must-see – they’ve sold out their first Ryman Auditorium play with a headline show in November. Additionally, they’re transcending genre norms with a break into AAA radio this Fall.
