Gospel recording artist, musician, producer, and songwriter Marcus Jordan earns his first #1 song on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart and Mediabase Gospel chart with “Call On The Name.”

The second single from his sophomore album Call On The Name (2021), the song spends 41 weeks (Gospel Airplay) and 44 weeks (Mediabase Gospel) on the chart. Meanwhile, “Call On The Name” is #17 on Hot Gospel Songs, which is powered by streaming, airplay, and sales.

On the heels of releasing his chart-debuting third project an EP titled My Life on Friday, February 3rd, Marcus Jordan exclusively premiered the official music video for “Finally (The Wedding Song)” earlier this week on his YouTube channel. The music video was filmed in HD on location at CityCentre in Houston, TX, and directed by Josh Allen, Marcus Jordan, and Michelle Jordan.

Lauded by social media influencer Karlton Humes, who’s known as NotKarltonBanks he presented a church-themed comedy parody of the song “Finally (The Wedding Song)” to his over 1 million of his social media followers on February 8th. Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors celebrate togetherness on their new full-length studio album Strangers No More – due out June 7th via Magnolia Records.

The new album was recorded in Asheville, NC at Echo Mountain Studios with producer Cason Cooley (Ben Rector, Ingrid Michaelson, American Authors) and Holcomb’s longtime bandmates Nathan Dugger (guitar), Rich Brinsfield (bass), Will Sayles (drums), and Ian Miller (keys).

Today’s news comes with the release of the album’s opening track “Fly” – a finger-picked folk song about the passage of time. It’s a gorgeous moment of reflection from a musician who’s learning to age gracefully, balancing the refined edge of his songwriting with a willingness to try new things.

Strangers No More builds upon Holcomb’s spirit of collaboration that was sparked by 2019’s Dragons LP which featured co-writes with Lori McKenna, The Lone Bellow, and Natalie Hemby. For the new album Holcomb turned to several trusted and talented friends to write with including Hemby, Ketch Secor (Old Crow Medicine Show), K.S. Rhoads and Cooley.

Written on both sides of a global pandemic, it’s a record about the perspective of time, the rollercoaster of triumph and tragedy, and jubilation in the face of chaos. Holcomb and his longtime bandmates aren’t just reveling in one another’s presence after a long hiatus; they’re expanding their sound, too, finding room for timeless songwriting, modern-day Laurel Canyon folk, amplified Americana, and heartland rock & roll.

If Dragons was a rhapsody of life and family, then Strangers No More embraces a wider range of topics and textures. The songwriting is more introspective and universal this time around — “the kind of specific that applies to everyone,” Holcomb says — and the love songs that filled previous albums have been replaced by tunes that cover friendship, death, introspection, and Holcomb’s connection to his audience. “There’s a longer list of characters this time,” he adds.

The Kingdom Choir commented, “In our changing world, this is the song that rises from our hearts. It speaks of freedom and a determination to press on, a reminder that hope takes us through the broken moments of life onto a brighter day.”

“Not Giving Up” is also a reflection of The Kingdom Choir’s own journey. Karen Gibson had led the choir for over two decades before their breakthrough moment in the spotlight, during which time the group – spread across London and from various Christian traditions – became renowned for their shared talents, collective spirit, and instantly uplifting performances.

The Kingdom Choir’s performances have remained in global demand ever since their performance at the Royal Wedding, with highlights including the Invictus Games, ITV’s Concert for Ukraine, Prince Albert II of Monaco’s 2021 gala, Expo 2020 and a headline show at the Hollywood Bowl. They have been sought out as collaborators by artists such as Gladys Knight, Gregory Porter, Emelie Sandé, and Madness, as well as for brand collaborations which have included Cartier, Ralph Lauren, Coca-Cola, Burberry, British Airways, and Marks & Spencer. The Kingdom Choir ended 2022 by performing as special guests at Trevor Nelson’s Soul Christmas extravaganza at the Royal Albert Hall alongside the likes of Corinne Bailey-Rae and Andrew Roachford.
