“I STILL HAVE YOU” was written and produced by Smokie Norful, Tre Noful and SNW. “My sons wanted to work on a song with me and they said, we need to get in the studio and record this beautiful song now. Before you knew you it, we were in the lab and “I Still Have You” was created,” mentions Smokie. The music video was directed by Tony Pettiford and just made its global on BET GOSPEL, BET.com and other BET Network properties.

RIAA Gold-selling, Dove Award-winning pop recording artist and songwriter Jordan Feliz recently debuted the music video for his latest single, “The King Is Alive.”

Written by Feliz along with longtime collaborator Colby Wedgeworth and award-winning songwriter Paul Duncan, who co-wrote Feliz’s third (“Glorify”) and fourth (“Jesus Is Coming Back”) No. 1 hits found on his current album Say It, “The King Is Alive” emphasizes that the resurrection of Jesus is not just an Easter celebration.

Lacey Sturm has debuted a music video for her aggressively introspective new song “Reconcile,” a long-awaited follow-up to 2021’s “Awaken Love.”

“My own humanity can be so divided. When I cling to my rights by pointing out the faults of others, I splinter myself. All of this division is rooted in my own pride,” Lacey Sturm shares. “Have I arrogantly supposed that I could somehow reconcile the world around me if I am not reconciled within myself?”

Lacey’s personal process of looking inward to bring herself into congruence with her ultimate human purpose informs “Reconcile.” The track is an unflinching mirror held up to the uncomfortable ways in which she acknowledges her own contribution to the world’s brokenness through arrogant pride: personal pride, relational pride, religious pride.

The accompanying music is equally visceral, with Josh Sturm’s careening guitar riffs and Lacey’s gut-punch vocals. The video is a visual representation of the singer’s inner fight for personal reconciliation.

As always, the darker reflections are tempered by the hope that comes when she can integrate her ego’s death with the life that comes from resurrecting grace.

Lacey says, “As soon as I cultivate peace within myself, the world around me starts falling into peace too— my kids, my family, my friends, the person at the checkout in the grocery store.”

That humble wisdom has been learned through many years of experience and growth. Perhaps fittingly, “Reconcile” is releasing as Lacey Sturm partners with Flyleaf (the band she founded) for reunion dates this summer. As has been shared in a multi-part video documentary, the experience of being in a massive band like Flyleaf was a lesson in the reality that no mortal can save the world.

“It causes a mental health crisis when we mortals are trying to change the world, but all the while we’re neglecting the life that’s within us,” Lacey says earnestly. “I’m not actually saving the world when I think of myself as some godlike savior. Ultimately, I end up losing my humanity in that hypocritical process. I am neglecting life while I’m telling them to live.”

For Lacey, the answer has become painfully, perfectly clear: “I have to die to myself before I can live.”

The album, “Elevation,” was produced, and recorded by John Dorsch at JDM Studios.  “Elevation” was mixed and mastered by Dave Draves of Little Bullhorn Studios in Ottawa, Ontario. Dorsch’s wife, Dani Baribeau, accompanies him on African Djembe drum and percussion, as well as harmony vocals, on some of the tracks.

Additionally on the track, “Save Just One More Life,” Paul Johnson and Bonny Skiffington join on mandolin, bouzouki, and harmony vocals, respectively.

As a multi-instrumentalist singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Dorsch has crafted an eclectic and unique blend of folk rock/Americana. Drawing on influences from Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Rush, and The Beatles, to name a few, Dorsch’s diverse style creates a unique sound that draws the listener in.

Dorsch has been an electric and acoustic guitarist for 45 years and has been increasingly drawn to fingerstyle guitar in recent years. His current collection includes a 2018 CGP Maton “808” acoustic, 2018 Gibson J45 acoustic, Manouche “Django” Gypsy Jazz acoustic, Gold Tone “Paul Beard” Resonator acoustic, 2013 Custom Fender Telecaster and 1989 Gibson Les Paul Custom electric guitars.

Dorsch’s mission is to create and share music that brings smiles to faces and encourages inspiration. Drawing on the beauty of the Rideau Lakes area of Ottawa Valley and his own international travels, Dorsch creates music that transports the listener.
