[Music] Morningtide – Celtic Worship

Scottish folk band Celtic Worship releases Morningtide, their latest project. With their unique approach to worship music, the seven-member group offers twelve new songs celebrating the multifaceted beauty of the Kingdom of God while blending traditional and contemporary Christian music with their native sonorities. The album’s debut song and video, “Come Thou Fount,” was released in August, followed by performance videos of “Blessed Assurance” and “Because He Lives.” Today, “How Deep The Father’s Love” video is available.

Proclaiming God’s faithfulness and His constant new mercies, at its heart Morningtide seeks to point people back to the resurrection of Jesus and then forward with a hope that is real, true, life-giving, and eternal. It is Celtic Worship’s driving force and desire to worship God by exploring the depth, beauty, and theological clarity of psalms and traditional hymns – music that has been present in Scotland for centuries. Yet, Celtic Worship brings a unique approach to the material as they infuse the native sounds of bagpipes and fiddle and hymns come to life while simultaneously intertwining new originals into the process.

The songs on Morningtide are characterized by a sense of heritage, history, and culture, highlighting the artistic connection between the band members: Naomi Stirrat on vocals, Steph Macleod on vocals and acoustic, Mhairi Marwick on fiddle, Scott Wood on bagpipes and whistle, Gus Stirrat on bass, Chris Amer on electric and Ifedade Thomas on drums.

Andy Mineo Takes To The Streets For Reactions To “Been About It” Feat. Lecrae

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop, a popular hip-hop phrase, has new meaning for Andy Mineo, who finally released his 4th studio album, Never Land II, on October 1st. On the eve of his album release, Andy got a call from his lawyers advising him not to drop, Never Land II, because legal had flagged one song, “Been About It,” ft Lecrae, for uncleared samples.

After 80 million streams from their viral hit, “Coming In Hot,” fans were looking forward to a follow-up project with Andy Mineo and Lecrae. With the momentum built, Mineo hit producer, Sak Pase, producer of “Coming In Hot,” for another banger.

After a year of so many industry deaths, Mineo and Lecrae wanted to celebrate hip-hop’s most iconic artists and the albums they created! “Been About It’ is our tribute to the culture,” shares Andy! “We’ve lost so many iconic hip-hop artists in the past few years and sadly, we wait until people die to give them their props! Lecrae and I recorded this song and a dope video to pay tribute to the artists who have impacted hip-hop and inspired us!”

Mineo premiered the video at the Atlanta listening session and media outlets, excited by the visuals, made their commitments of coverage. Reach Records had planned their entire roll-out and promotions for the album around the big reveal. “We were excited by the responses and then the calls started coming in,” shares Andy. “While my lawyers and label worked through clearance issues, my managers decided to slash the date for Return to Never Land Tour because of the pandemic. It almost seemed like Never Land II was doomed to remain in never land!”

To stay positive, Andy and his partner-in-rhyme, Lecrae, hit the vocal booth at Reach Studios and switched up their lyrics, recording a new version of the single. The day before the album release, they traversed the Atlanta Beltline, playing the Never Land II album for random people while capturing reactions to the original “Been About It” video!

“Yo, Man! Your video is video is fire!””Aw Snap that was dope! Why can’t you release that?””Can you put it on YouTube NOW?””Hip-hop needs this type of creativity!””You’re going to get 1 million IRL (in real life) views!”

So the fans have spoken, the label, and Reach team continue to get clearances on the video! In the meantime, check out their Atlanta Beltline and click here to stream the album!

[Music Video] Promised Land – Village Lights

Running Club Records’ multi-cultural worship collective, Village Lights, has released their third new song from the upcoming November debut album. The song, “Promised Land,” is available now along with the debut of the music video below. The song is inspired by a Zulu protest song/ South African hymn. The song features the group’s Ike Ndolo, and he said the song is a full-circle moment for him as he recalls knowing the hymn when he was younger.

“This is really about moving towards the light and marching towards the promised land despite what was, and despite all the things that you’ve been through before.”

The songwriting process for “Promised Land” took the band on a journey, leading them to the core message that it’s okay to acknowledge the struggle, but let’s always rejoice! Village Lights unveil a whole new universe of truth and joy, inviting the listener to join in worship with them. Yet again, this song is another example of the band’s heart to foster a community of worshippers centered around God’s inviting love, and the international flavor laced inside the new song places inclusivity and reconciliation in the central spot.

Village Lights is comprised of Sarah Kroger, Ike Ndolo and Ricky Vazquez and are based out of Nashville and Arizona. Earlier this year, the band released their debut self-titled EP, which introduced their heartbeat; one of unity, inclusivity and reconciliation wrapped in worshipful devotion. Seeing themselves as more than a band, but rather a movement for those who seek justice in our world and Church.

Village Lights are set to release their debut full-length album in November. This new project promises to offer poignant lyrics, exploratory sonorities blending the band’s multi-ethnicity and fresh poetic approaches to liturgical worship. The forthcoming album is produced by Matt Maher, a longtime mentor to the band. Recently released from the forthcoming project are the songs “Here Is Our Hallelujah” and “Christ Our King.” Including “Promised Land,” each of the official music videos were captured in the stunning Sedona area.

[Music Video] On Point – Steven Malcolm

CHH powerhouse Steven Malcolm returns with a hard-hitting music video for “On Point” featuring KB. Available today, the award-winning rhyme slinger reaches a new apex with his latest effort.

“‘On Point’ is all about being sharp and withstanding the test of time!” says Malcolm, who fills the song with trap beats, a cyclical piano hook, and shoutouts to iconic quarterback Tom Brady. “Defying the odds is never easy,” he continues, “but a sharp mind can overcome any obstacle. The greatest QB and my favorite football player being Tom Brady, I couldn’t help but use the best as the metaphor.”

The music video follows Steven’s impressive EP All Is True HERE (nearly 700K Spotify streams) which was met with praise by RESPECTElevator MagAudacy among other publications – the latter of those mentioned writing, “In the age of conscious rap and sharing truths via storytelling, Steven Malcolm fits right in with the likes of J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, D Smoke and Nipsey Hussle.”

If that EP found Malcolm focusing on songs about truth, then “On Point” finds him focusing on tenacity. He raps about his day-to-day work ethic and his God-given talent, splitting the song’s verses with KB along the way. Given the multiple mentions of Tom Brady, it’s no coincidence that “On Point” sometimes feels like the hip-hop equivalent of an athlete’s comments during a pre-game interview. Here, Steven Malcolm is limber, laced up, and ready to take the field.

“This record is all about high energy and motivation for anyone who is looking to be focused!” he explains.

Described by Dirty-Glove as “Michigan’s best kept secret”, Steven’s power-hinged anthem is a certified banger. “On Point” is available today.
