I lost my oldest brother and my mom, but God never left me alone. I found out that I had the same kidney disease [focal segmental glomerulus sclerosis – FSGS) my brother died with, but God never left me alone! My kidneys failing and having to be on dialysis for five years, God never left me alone. Through every phase of my life, He has carried me when I couldn’t find the words to pray.”

New York, NY — Singer-songwriter Sarai Korpacz has written and produced “A Step In Time,” the newest faith-based track in her catalogue of uplifting Christian-themed music. The single will debut on Valentine’s Day of 2022, as a nod to the spectrum of love people experience in life and within their faith communities.
Korpacz explains, “Our relationship with the Holy Spirit can be compared to a dance. Psalm 32:8 states that ‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye.’ The Holy Spirit is always speaking, we make the choice to tune in and listen to what He is saying, and as we align ourselves to His voice, we step into the seasons ordained for us at the right time of life.”
With “A Step In Time” Korpacz explores a range of stylings and colors. In a subtle departure from her earlier work, this track is more subdued and contemplative, while still infused with the hopefulness and optimism fans have come to expect from her work.
“The song came alive for me at a skating rink. I went skating that day because, as I started writing the song, I was working with the idea of dance. Beside me, there must have been about seven or eight people in a group roller skating, holding hands, and effortlessly in sync with each other. In every step, nothing was missing. They were in a state of bliss and flow just feeding off each other’s energy.. I was hoping to find inspiration or a deeper sense of what the song could entail—and I was not disappointed!”
The lyric video will drop February 14, 2022 and feature a range of dance scenes, from ice skating and rollerblading, to ballet and ballroom… Korpacz hopes to impart a sense of how dance serves as a metaphor for keeping in step with the Holy Spirit.
“I needed to get this out by Valentine’s Day—a message to the married, single, searching, dating, divorced or lonely. Love, joy and happiness in life is truly established in our intimate relationship with God. When we get this right, everything else will align.”
The backing vocals feature Natalie Lukkenaer, an accomplished professional singer from the Netherlands who now lives in Kenya. Find the song and video on February 14, 2022 on streaming platforms and at saraikorpacz.com.
