The track was written by Dante Bowe, Chandler Moore, Omari Walthour , Jonathan Jay, Tony Brown, Nate Moore and Brandon Lake during a Maverick City Music Spanish camp. “Hermoso Dios” is off of Como en el Cielo, which dropped last week (Mar 19)
. The album is Maverick City Music’s first Spanish album.

“Over the past year, the Mav crew has become more like family to us,” says Chris Brown from Elevation Worship. “The times we’ve spent writing and worshipping together have been very special and felt equally important to what God was doing in both of our ministries.” Out of one of their first songwriting sessions came the song “Jireh”, a powerful ballad that Elevation Worship has been singing in their church services for several months. “It was the first song Pastor Steven and I wrote with Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine and it’s the song that kickstarted the idea for the entire project, Old Church Basement”, says Brown.

It is the fruit of his journey towards healing and self discovery; a path that drove Angeloh deeper into the secret place where the Father is.
According to Angeloh, “I can now truly love myself, my spouse, family, and neighbour because I am encountering God’s love: For a person who does not know God’s love cannot truly love. My desire is that this project draws every listener into the secret place, so they can experience the love of the Father first-hand.”
The soundscape is intimate and reminiscent of Angeloh’s minimalist performances as accompanied by Uwawgu David on the acoustic guitar. Angeloh employs lyrical and performing devices that utilize every pocket in the rhythm as he presents both new and familiar ideas to the listener. Some of the songs are laced with background vocals by the amazing Kesiena Philips-Odogu and supported with synth vibes and drums to drive their intended mood and message.
