Five-time GRAMMY® Award-winning worship leader and songwriter Brandon Lake has answered the overwhelming cries of his fanbase by releasing the official collaboration version of his hit single, “When A Cowboy Prays,” featuring country music superstar Cody Johnson.

The track, which originally debuted as a solo effort in September 2025, became an instant viral sensation, with fans across TikTok and Instagram flooding Lake’s comments with one request: “Get Cody Johnson on this.” Today, that prayer has been answered.

“When A Cowboy Prays” is a rugged, soul-stirring ballad that explores the intersection of grit and grace. Inspired by the biblical promise in James 5:16, the song paints a vivid picture of a man whose faith is as weathered and reliable as his leather-bound Bible. With lyrics like “When a cowboy prays, it starts raining in Oklahoma / Long lost sons come home to mama,” the track celebrates the quiet, earth-shaking power of sincere, humble intercession.
