Christian R&B recording artist Dasia Gorbea, professionally known as PilotBae, presents “Take It Away,” a faith-centred song that captures the vulnerability of surrendering the things that no longer align with God’s will.

Blending soulful Gospel influences with contemporary R&B, “Take It Away” is framed as a personal prayer for God to remove anything standing in the way of His purpose. The song explores the difficult but necessary process of letting go, embracing change and trusting God even when the next step is uncertain.

At its heart, the record speaks to the tension between holding on to what feels familiar and surrendering to what God may be calling someone towards. It offers a relatable message for listeners navigating seasons of transition, spiritual growth and personal transformation.

The song’s message connects naturally with Gorbea’s own journey of faith. A Brooklyn native now based in Detroit, she has built a career that spans music, aviation and military service. As a Boeing 737 First Officer, U.S. military veteran and Michigan Chronicle 40 Under 40 honoree, Gorbea’s story reflects perseverance, purpose and the pursuit of a calling across different areas of life.

Although she did not grow up in church, her journey eventually led her back to God. Experiences that challenged her personally and professionally helped reshape her understanding of faith and music, inspiring her to approach her musical gift as something to steward for God’s glory.

Her debut single, “Hindsight,” introduced listeners to this testimony, while her 2025 album, Intended Use Only, further explored themes of faith, identity, healing, obedience and transformation.

With “Take It Away,” Gorbea continues to create music that connects Christian faith with everyday experiences, reaching listeners who are discovering God, returning to Him or learning to trust Him in new ways.

The song serves as a reminder that surrender is not always easy, but choosing to release what no longer serves God’s purpose can be an important step towards spiritual growth.
