Maria Jacobs Releases ‘We Are Lifted Up’
The uplifting Christian AC anthem arrives as a passionate call to worship, unity, and surrender, blending heartfelt praise with the rich musical excellence that has defined Jacobs’ celebrated career.
Written by Maria Jacobs and produced by Grammy winner Pete Tokar, “We Are Lifted Up” invites listeners into an atmosphere of prayer and worship through lyrics that encourage believers to come together in faith.
Lines such as “Holy Spirit we are lifted, high above the atmosphere” and “We are one in this place, seeking mercy and grace” reflect the song’s central message of spiritual connection and dependence on God’s presence. The song builds with a congregational spirit that feels equally at home in personal devotion or corporate worship settings.
Maria Jacobs continues to bring a unique artistic perspective shaped by both her cultural heritage and extensive musical background. American born of Syrian Lebanese and Armenian descent, Jacobs has become widely respected across Christian and Jazz music circles through a career that includes ten solo albums and seventeen singles.

Her years performing in Los Angeles further expanded her artistic reach, allowing her to blend Jazz sophistication with deeply rooted Christian themes in a way that feels authentic and emotionally resonant.
Beyond the stage and studio, Jacobs remains deeply committed to music education and community outreach. She currently serves as Jazz Vocal Professor at Kent State University and teaches music to young students in a private school setting.
Through her work with the non-profit organization Open Tone Music, she also helps bring music programs to underserved youth in Akron and Cleveland communities. With its soaring chorus, prayerful message, and sincere worship atmosphere, “We Are Lifted Up” offers Christian radio audiences a reminder that faith grows stronger when believers gather in one spirit and one voice.
