VERSE 1
God of creation
There at the start
Before the beginning of time
With no point of reference
You spoke to the dark
And fleshed out the wonder of light

CHORUS 1
And as You speak
A hundred billion galaxies are born
In the vapour of Your breath the planets form
If the stars were made to worship so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You’ve made
Every burning star
A signal fire of grace
If creation sings Your praises so will I

VERSE 2
God of Your promise
You don’t speak in vain
No syllable empty or void
For once You have spoken
All nature and science
Follow the sound of Your voice

CHORUS 2
And as You speak
A hundred billion creatures catch Your breath
Evolving in pursuit of what You said
If it all reveals Your nature so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You say
Every painted sky
A canvas of Your grace
If creation still obeys You so will I

BRIDGE
If the stars were made to worship so will I
If the mountains bow in reverence so will I
If the oceans roar Your greatness so will I
For if everything exists to lift You high so will I
If the wind goes where You send it so will I
If the rocks cry out in silence so will I
If the sum of all our praises still falls shy
Then we’ll sing again a hundred billion times

VERSE 3
God of salvation
You chased down my heart
Through all of my failure and pride
On a hill You created
The light of the world
Abandoned in darkness to die

CHORUS 3
And as You speak
A hundred billion failures disappear
Where You lost Your life so I could find it here
If You left the grave behind You so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You’ve done
Every part designed in a work of art called love
If You gladly chose surrender so will I
I can see Your heart
Eight billion different ways
Every precious one
A child You died to save
If You gave Your life to love them so will I

Rap Tuesday : The Ministry of Canton Jones

Jones was born, Canton Dorrelle Jones, on January 9, 1977, in Deerfield Beach,

Florida, and began singing at the age of five in a vocal group founded by his father. By the age of 16, he was writing and producing songs for friends in his hometown.

He relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he attended Morehouse College joining the school’s renowned Glee Club. The club performed for celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Stevie Wonder, Dr Bobby Jones and Ray Charles, as well as performing at high-profile events such as the opening ceremony of the 1996 Olympic Games and at the first gospel concert ever held at the US Pentagon.

Between 1998 and 1999, he joined World Changers Church International, under the pastorship of Creflo & Taffi Dollar and in his own words, grew as a Christian under their stewardship: “My wife, who was my girlfriend at the time, took me to World Changers and I started getting the word. I was going to that church for like three years before I really rededicated my life to Christ. I was there from probably like 1998 or 1999 until 2001 before I really started getting on track.”

In 2001, Jones launched his own gospel record label, CAJO International. And independently released his first album, 2002’s 20 Years, 3 Months & 12 Days, which chronicled his journey to salvation.

He released his second independent album in 2004: The Password and that same year, collaborated with Lil iROCC Williams on Williams’s 2004 debut album, and wrote and performed a song, “You and Me”, for the compilation Holy Hip-Hop: Taking the Gospel to the Streets.

At this time he was now a member of the choir of World Changers International Church and a solo performance at the church attracted the attention of the church’s youth pastor, who asked Jones to help him in the youth department. Not long after that, he was signed to the church’s Arrow Records label, an affiliate of EMI.

He released his major label debut, Love Jones, in mid-2005, which debuted at number 11 on Billboard’ s Top Gospel Albums chart. Following the album’s success, Jones toured the US with over 200 appearances that year.

In November 2005, The Password was re-released nationally at the end of 2005 as The Password: Access Granted and earned him two Grammy nominations. His success in 2005 saw him listed in The Atlanta Business Journal at number 19 in their 40 Under 40 chart of Atlanta’s rising stars.

On April 5, 2008, he released Kingdom Business. In 2009, he released Kingdom Business, Pt. 2, and Kingdom Business, Pt. 3 followed in 2010.

Jones’s fifth and most highly anticipated album for him and for CAJO Records, Dominionaire, was released on February 1, 2011. Three singles were released prior to the album’s release, “In da Club”, “Window”, and “G.O.D.”, only the first two listed were released on iTunes.

Later in 2011 Dominionaire Remixed was released, featuring artists like D-MAUB, Messenja and Erica Cumbo. In early 2012 he released a live album and DVD. In October 2012 Kingdom Business Pt. 4 was released, along with a mixtape, All Day Jesus, and a five-song EP, Short Fuse.

On Feb 18, 2014, Jones released an 18-track mixtape, Lust, Drugs, and Gospel in an effort to assist those who have issues related to lust and drugs.

On July 29th, 2014, Jones released God City USA. An album containing 17-tracks

On Jan 29th, 2016, Jones released I Am Justice. An album containing 18-tracks which gained him a stellar award.

And in 2017 releasing two EPs,  Fanatic on Jan 1st and Greatness on Sept 28th.

Canton Jones has also featured on projects with Kierra Kiki Sheard, James Fortune, Pastor Charles Jenkins, John Waller, Uncle Reece, Vicki Yohe, Deitrick Haddon, J Moss, Tye Tribbett, T Haddy, Isaac Carree, Viktory, Andy Mineo, Matt Pitt, William Murphy, Jor’dan Armstrong, Richie Righteous, Bizzle, Crystal Tamar, KJ 52, Jonathan Phillips, GIdeonzArmy, Corey Coco Condrey, Mr Del, Vashawn Mitchell, William McDowell, and Joann Condrey.

CANTON  JONES a singer, rapper, songwriter, producer, vocal arranger, Pastor and entrepreneur, as well as a dedicated husband and father of 4, sharing his advice to those young in age, or young in the faith, who may be confused about pursuing God or feel lost or misunderstood in this whole “religion/faith” thing, in an interview with Truth + Fire said:

My advice is / would be for them to seek God for themselves. So many people can give you advice about God, and some of it can lead you down the right path. But some of it can lead you down the wrong path because what worked for THEM may not work for YOU. That’s why it’s called faith. You have to step out on what God has spoken to you, specifically. My word today is ‘walk by faith and not by sight’. Go by what God is speaking to your heart and not necessarily by what everyone else is doing. People may come against you for stepping outside of the box, but the Bible says, ‘a hundredfold cometh with persecution’. When you’re getting blessed and trying to change the world, there are going to be naysayers and people who talk about you. But you’re not doing it for them, you’re doing it for Him.

For someone that has been criticized for stepping a little outside the box with his genre of music in the gospel music industry, His influnence on the lives of people espeacially christians has never dwindled. He remains a perfect example for people who are scared of stepping outside the box in the gospel music industry.

Here is One of his songs “No limits” from his “I Am Justice” album. Canton was reminding us on how limitless we are for having God on our side. A nice one from him, There are times we lose sight of some of the priviledges for having God on our side of which one includes limiting  the ability of an amazing God in us.

Travis Greene – Crossover Music Review

After having “Intentional” minister to my heart and my life, I jumped on the new release by Travis Greene entitled, “Crossover”. I was not disappointed at all.

Travis Greene

When I started writing this review I had to do some research on this young man. The first thing I read was from his websitecrossover. It read, “What is to be said of a child who has been pronounced dead twice in his life before entering kindergarten? Is it fate and favor that the child is still here? Or, is it the power of a praying mother calling on the name of Jesus so fervently that the circumstances defy all of the odds?” Wow! Add to that the loss of his father and I can truly understand why he’s so passionate about singing for the Lord.

Crossover

Now, “Crossover” is one of those albums that you can put on, sit back and worship the Lord. When I was listening to it my mind was at ease. I felt the walls of my life would not be permanent and God would stay true to his word.

While I’m Waiting

My favorite song is, “While I’m Waiting (Featuring Chandler Moore)”. This song spoke to my heart. If you needed a reminder of what to do while you’re  waiting on the Lord, listen to this song.

Worship Rise

“Worship Rise” is another beautiful ballad type song. It’s over eight minutes long but well worth it. The reassurance that God will “Pour his love all over you” is powerful. You can close your eyes to this song and get in tune with God.

Daddy’s Home

This song starts with Travis ministering to the people. He tells how one day God stopped him in his tracks and told him to stop searching for what he already had. He has the Father of Fathers, the king of kings. This is so true. We keep looking for that something in our life and we need that reminder that we have it all in Him. “Daddy’s Home” is that reminder that He is all we need. I love this song!

Finally Found

The final song on this album is very appropriate. It’s a song about your breakthrough. “I’m not who I was and I’m not what I’ve done. Your love changed everything. What I’ve been searching for, has finally found me.” If that’s not where you are now it’s where you will be in God’s time. Remember this song when your breakthrough comes. I know I will.

Summary

This is a worship gem. Travis Greene has been through a lot in his life but he’s chosen to worship and praise God despite it all. This album gets five stars!

Art of Hope by KB

Born Kevin Elijah Burgess, Florida rapper KB exploded on the Christian hip-hop scene in 2012, topping the U.S. Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart with his debut effort, Weight & Glory. A troubled teen in high school, KB was saved by a Christian rap CD a friend gave him, and after one listen, he was on his way to a career in hip-hop for the Lord. Unfamiliar with the Christian rap scene, KB recorded demos with no network to hear them, but throwing his tracks on video-sharing sites and other social media gained the rapper a loyal following. Superstar Lecrae caught wind, took KB on tour as an opening act, and five shows in, KB was offered a contract with Lecrae’s label, Reach. The mixtape Who Is KB? followed in 2011 with KB’s official debut, Weight & Glory, landing a year later. The EP 100 followed in 2014, featuring a guest appearance from Andy Mineo. In 2015 delivered his second studio album, Tomorrow We Live, featuring contributions from Lecrae, Mattie, and Bubba Watson.
