Chris Tomlin Honored With Two GRAMMY Nominations
Chris Tomlin, a globally known artist/songwriter/worship leader whose catalog of music includes some of the most influential Christian songs of all time, was nominated for two GRAMMY awards this morning, Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “Holy Forever” from his latest record ALWAYS and Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for ALWAYS.
Chris’ nominations continue the tremendous success since last fall including a CMT ‘Crossroads Christmas’ performance with Brett Young, Tomlin’s annual ‘Good Friday Nashville’ expanding globally with an exclusive live premiere on Facebook, setting a career attendance record with an unprecedented concert at Los Angeles’ Banc of California Stadium, becoming the first Christian artist to play three sets of back-to-back concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheater, being selected as a one of four CMA ‘Artists of the Day’ during 2022 CMA Fest, performing “Holy Forever” from his new album ALWAYS on the Kelly Clarkson Show last month and being chosen as this year’s co-host for the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards.
“I am speechless. To be this far into my career and to still receive this level of support… the only word I can think of is ‘humbled’,” shared Chris. “First and foremost, as Johann Sebastian Bach initialed his compositions, “Soli Deo gloria”… glory to God alone. Secondly, I would like to congratulate my friends and colleagues who are also nominated, it is an honor to be nominated alongside not only talented people, but incredible people.”
The multi-platinum, multi-award-winning and previous GRAMMY® award winner Tomlin received the news today while on the road for the final leg of the ‘Top 10 Worldwide Tour’ (Pollstar), the“Tomlin UNITED Tour.”
ALWAYS, Tomlin’s latest 13-track worship album released this September, is Tomlin’s seventeenth album. The Tennessean expressed that the new music ‘cements his legendary status in the genre.’ Featured guests on ALWAYS include Elevation Worship, Steffany Gretzinger, and Brandon Lake. The project was produced by Ben Glover, Jeff Sojka, Bryan Fowler, Ed Cash, Jonathan Smith and Dave Haywood of Lady A co-produced “The Answer.” Get the album HERE.
