Maverick City Music Earns New Artist of the Year and Album of the Year Wins at 2021 Stellar Awards

Congratulations to Maverick City Music, who took home New Artist Of The Year and Album Of The Year at the 2021 Stellar Awards for the 2020 release of Maverick City Vol. 3 Part 1. Between Maverick City Music and all of its artists, the Billboard No.1 collective garnered 11 Stellar Award nominations. The gospel event of the year, the 36th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, will air on BET on Sunday, August 1st, at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT. Gospel legend Tye Tribbett and multiple Stellar Award winner Jekalyn Carr will host the highly-anticipated event, which will feature inspirational performances from the genre’s most celebrated artists.

In celebration of Juneteenth last month, Maverick City Music released their newest project, Jubilee: Juneteenth Edition. The new album is a dual-side feature consisting of a live gospel produced A-Side and a Rap/R&B/Pop produced B-Side. Jubilee features a wide range of guest artists, including heavy-hitters from gospel, R&B, Pop and Rap: Ciara, Rapsody, Tamar Braxton, Jonathan McReynolds, Israel Houghton, Jekalyn Carr, and more. As with other Maverick City Music releases, the collective continues to impress as the new album peaked at #1 on Apple iTunes.

Maverick City Music recently made headlines with their newest release Old Church Basement, a collab album with Elevation Worship, which broke streaming records at both Apple Music and Spotify. On Apple Music, the group set a new worldwide record for the most first-day streams for a Christian and Gospel album, and on Spotify, the album broke the U.S. record for the most streams in a day for an album by a Christian group and was No. 4 out of all U.S. albums its first weekend of release. Old Church Basement was released April 30 and is a powerful collection that aims to bring listeners back to a pure place of worship and features vocals from Chandler Moore, Brandon Lake, Naomi Raine, Chris Brown, Dante Bowe, Tiffany Hudson, Joe L Barnes, and Amanda Lindsey Cook.

This upcoming fall, Maverick City Music will embark on its first-ever tour and the shows will feature electrifying performances with collective members Dante Bowe, Chandler Moore, Naomi Raine, Joe L. Provident Label Group Celebrates K-LOVE Fan Awards Wins

Provident Label Group is proud to announce that two of their artists—Zach Williams and CAIN—walked away with a total of three K-LOVE Fan Awards. Held at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry on Sunday, May 30, and airing on TBN last Friday, June 4, singer/songwriter and multi-award winner Williams received two: Male Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for the No. 1 hit “There Was Jesus” with Dolly Parton“Rise Up (Lazarus)” from sibling trio CAIN, who also made their awards show debut, received Breakthrough Single of the Year for their chart-topping single.

Both artists performed during the show—Williams shared his powerful new song “Stand My Ground” while CAIN performed “Rise Up (Lazarus).” CAIN, comprised of Madison Cain JohnsonLogan Cain, and Taylor Cain Matz, also sang backup during Williams’ performance.

The Provident family went into the awards show with an astounding 13 nominations. Matthew West returned as host for the annual event while also performing his top hit “Truth Be Told” with country superstar Carly Pearce. for KING & COUNTRY Earns 2 More K-LOVE Fan Awards

It was recently announced that four-time GRAMMY Award-winning duo for KING & COUNTRY took home multiple honors at the 2021 K-LOVE Fan Awards, hosted at Nashville’s iconic Grand Ole Opry House. Through fan votes, for KING & COUNTRY was named Artist of the Year as well as Group/Duo of the Year, becoming the artist with the most K-LOVE awards at thirteen total honors.

PJ Morton Wins Grammy for “Gospel According To PJ”

R&B singer-songwriter and producer, PJ Morton, has scored a Grammy® Award for his first-ever inspirational music album, Gospel According to PJ (Morton Records/ Tyscot), in the category of Best Gospel Album. The award was revealed during the pre-telecast of the 63rd annual Grammy® Awards ceremony on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Mexican Music vocalist, Lupita Infante, announced the winner of the category and Morton accepted it virtually.

The all-star set features performances from gospel music legends such as Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Commissioned, and The Clark Sisters, among others. The first radio single “All in His Plan” – featuring Mary Mary and Le’Andria Johnson – peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart. While this is Morton’s third Grammy win (out of 14 career nominations), it’s the first victory for Tyscot Records. The 45+ year old label has earned nominations in the past for artists such as the Rance Allen Group, and Anthony Brown & group therAPy. “We are excited about this win,” says Tyscot President, Bryant Scott. “It’s an excellent album and we’re very proud of it and PJ Morton.”
