The 3rd Annual Grizzly Awards Announce Winners & Available For Replay

The 3rd Annual Grizzly Awards event is now available to stream in full on Facebook, YouTube, and below, following its April 3 livestream.

The event included performances from Seventh Day Slumber, Remedy Drive, Nate Parrish and Dire, alongside presenter appearances from industry legends like Travis Wyrick, Trevor McNevan (Thousand Foot Krutch), Brian “Head” Welch (Korn, Love & Death), Austin Carlile (The Whosoevers), James Mead (Kutless), Josiah Prince (Disciple) and Andrew Stanton (Disciple). The Grizzly Awards were hosted by Egypt Speaks, acclaimed poet and spoken word artist.

“The purpose of The Grizzly Awards was to celebrate this genre as a whole, reaching far below simply the nominees and the winners,” co-founder Mary Nikkel shares on behalf of The Grizzly Awards leadership team. “We truly felt that during the event, where we were surrounded by this community both in person and through everyone watching online. We truly hope that it was deeply encouraging to everyone who was able to be a part of it.

The Grizzly Awards stream began on Facebook, but moved to YouTube partway through the show due to technical challenges. The newly uploaded video allows viewers to watch it in full on both platforms. The Grizzlies team shares, “We’re so grateful to everyone for persisting with us through the countless challenges of creating a livestream event on this scale. That was yet more evidence of the passion and the purpose-focused heart of rock and metal listeners!”

The Grizzly Awards was funded entirely by generous sponsors and individual donors and filmed on site at Westlight Studios in Franklin, Tenn. The results of the awards were determined by fan voting, which took place in February. Winners accepted their awards during the event, with acceptances from artists like Memphis May Fire, Relent, Lacey Sturm, Love & Death, The Letter Black and Seventh Day Slumber. 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards Postponed

For the second year in a row, the GRAMMY Awards have been postponed from their regular January spot due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally set to take place on January 31, no new date has been announced.

In a statement, the Recording Academy shared, “After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community and our many partners, the Recording Academy and CBS have postponed the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards Show.  The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority.  Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31 simply contains too many risks.  We look forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night on a future date, which will be announced soon.”

NASHVILLE, TENN. World-renowned worship leader Kari Jobe received a GRAMMY® Award nomination for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album” for her album, The Blessing (Live). The nominated album has been a hallmark project for Jobe’s career as the title track from the album recently won the 2021 GMA Dove Award for “Song of the Year.” This marks her third career GRAMMY nomination. The 64th GRAMMY Awards will air Monday, Jan. 31, on CBS.

“Wow – it’s so sweet to celebrate what God has done and continues to do through The Blessing,” shares Kari Jobe upon learning about her nomination today. “This album was very special to record, and it’s extremely honoring to be nominated for a Grammy! The uniquely recorded live album features 15 tracks and more than three hours of worship captured. The album’s namesake is from the viral global hit song, “The Blessing,” with Jobe, Cody Carnes, and Elevation Worship that received a GRAMMY Award nomination for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song,” won the 2020 “Worship Song of the Year” as well as awarded RIAA Gold Digital Single certification.

The Blessing (Live) features songs co-written by Cody Carnes, Austin Davis, Jacob Sooter, Jonas Myrin, Elyssa Smith, Steffany Gretzinger, Chris Brown, Steven Furtick, and Passion’s Kristian Stanfill and Brett Younker. The album was produced by Cody Carnes, Austin Davis, Henry Seeley, and Jobe.
