“There’s been one consistent question that we’ve gotten over the years of traveling to lead, sing and minister all over the world: how do I start a gathering like this?” says Nate Moore.
“People are hungry to be a part of an authentic, free-spirited, Jesus-loving, fiery, worship community. This album captures the essence of what a “house on fire” type of worship community looks and feels like.”
On ‘How To Start A Housefire,’ the collective offers celebratory moments, reflective gratitude, vigorous testimony and more. The album’s focus track “Keep My Eyes Up (feat. Ryan Ellis)” is an anthem of hope that fills the room with a melding of voices representing individuals from different backgrounds coming together as one body.
‘How To Start A Housefire’ is produced by Jonathan Jay and Tony Brown, who also created the GRAMMY-winning group Maverick City Music. The album features Housefires core members GRAMMY-nominee Nate Moore, chart-topping songwriter Ryan Ellis (Chris Tomlin, Natalie Grant, Matt Redman), Kirby Kaple (Chris Tomlin, Passion Music) and Davy Flowers, and features collaborations with artists including 2x GRAMMY-nominee DOE (Forever Jones), GRAMMY-winner KJ Scriven, GRAMMY-winner Chandler Moore (Maverick City Music), Harvest Grapevine and others.
Known to the Christian Hip Hop community as Da’ T.R.U.T.H., Emanuel Lee Lambert Jr. is ringing in 2023 with a new name and self-titled album, Emanuel, that proves hip hop is not just for the youth.
Emanuel, a sonic journey through Emanuel’s entire career, including years spent as a classroom-trained percussionist, is released in partnership with Mixed Bag Entertainment. Emanuel is available wherever music is sold and streamed on Friday, January 27, 2023.
The album Emanuel focuses on the intersection between two worlds. The world of Emanuel, his birth name, and Immanuel, the Hebrew name given to Jesus Christ. Boasting collaborations with Fred Hammond, Todd Dulaney, Aaron Cole, Dante Bowe, Tamela Mann, Maranda Curtis, Rich Tolbert, PJ Morton, Yolanda Adams, and more, this album reminds listeners that whatever their state or station of life, the greatest confidence one can have is knowing that God is “Immanuel,” – The God who is with all through every season of life.
The release of Emanuel also introduces the retirement of his artist name, Da’ T.R.U.T.H., and the birth of moving forward under his given name, Emanuel Lambert. “Being older and wiser makes me feel more stripped down and vulnerable. Da’ T.R.U.T.H. is strong, and he knows it. Emanuel is more like one of the guys. I have been thinking for the past four years that this is something I wanted to do, and this was a perfect time,” shares Emanuel.
CEO of Mixed Bag Entertainment, Gary Crockett, states, ““Working with Emanuel has been exciting. Seeing him along with the Gospel greats bridge the worlds of Gospel music with hip hop is a conduit to bring Generations together. This album speaks to the issues of life but giving an enormous celebration of hope in each song.”
With a career spanning two decades, Emanuel has sold over a quarter million records worldwide and toured or collaborated with some of Gospel and Christian music’s premiere artists. As a leading voice in the music industry, he has been committed to using creativity in the arts to share his faith & life experiences. He has won four Stellar Gospel Music Awards and is GRAMMY and DOVE Award nominated. Additionally, he serves as the CEO of the newly formed entertainment company, NXT Agency.
Emanuel’s lead single, “Set The Bar,” is a powerful and thought-provoking track that starts with an orchestral string composition. Upbeat and intense “Set The Bar” takes listeners on a journey from humble beginnings in the industry to his current status. He highlights one of the greatest challenges of longevity: the audience expects the artist to stay the same. In this heavily string-driven song, he makes an appeal, challenging his listeners to allow him room to evolve and grow as an artist. The chorus, “I set the pace, I set the bar,” keeps the focus on his intent to be a trailblazer. Over time, he has developed his own sound and wants his fans and supporters to stay with him as he seeks to mature the genre.
Emanuel – DA’ T.R.U.T.H.
“Whole” is a reflective declaration in three parts. Emanuel begins with the Gospel rap and Hip Hop style for which he has gained an international reputation. Known for his unique instrumentation, he beings the song with a simple piano and beat instrumentation. As he sets the theme for the song, he wants the listener to focus on the lyrics. Section two is reminiscent of the early gospel hymn songs in which music was primarily created with voices and a keyboard instrument. In this section, Emanuel and Yolanda Adams utilize the Black music form known as Call and Response to draw the listener into this intimate moment. Section three returns to traditional Gospel, and the two artists drive the song to the end with an upbeat and celebratory declaration, “I Need Healing for My Soul.”
“Tell Somebody” with Maranda Curtis opens with an intimate children’s moment that reminds us of a Sunday School lesson. Within seconds, we are shifted to an upbeat vibe with an Island feel. “Crown” features Todd Dulaney and Aaron Cole and is a spiritually awakening collaboration. Listeners hear the Dulaney worship sound, which is contemporary Christian in nature. Emanuel uses his unique lyrical gift to engage those listeners that might need a more urban spiritual moment. Aaron Cole uses the purity and honesty of his voice to ensure that the text remains at the forefront of the song. “Kingdom” features Dante Bowe and is a standout declaration that the time has come for the Kingdom of God to rise. The raw edge of Dante Bowe’s voice and the energetic lyricism of Emanuel activates a call to action that is hard to ignore. Many believers will relate to the visual picture presented when Bowe sings about the stirring in his soul and the open fire burning in his bones. “Kingdom” puts these feelings into context by informing listeners that they are a notification that the time has come for them to rise.
Emanuel shares, “I craft music for a mature listener. If you love music, you will love Emanuel. If you love Christian hip hop but think you are too old to listen to it, I’m here to tell you that you’re not. I want people to feel comfortable ‘still liking this.’”

On the heels of his highly-acclaimed self-titled album debut, Benjamin William Hastings announces today’s surprise release of a special 50-track version, aptly titled the Songwriter Edition, courtesy of Capitol CMG/Invorto.
“So you’re probably wondering what this is…how could it possibly have 50 tracks? Why should you care?” Hastings inquires. “Indulge me for a second with a little story. Last November I released 25 songs on a self-titled record Benjamin William Hastings. They were written across a great many years from a great many revelations with a great many people. And while hopefully the songs themselves tell you the stories they are supposed to, there are always stories behind the stories. There’s always more than meets the ear.”
He continues, “That being said, this Songwriter Edition is really not just for songwriters, is it? In short, definitely not, but as a songwriter, I’ve always had a fascination with the story behind the song – the mechanics of how it was made and the alchemy of how it all came together – so that’s why I called it that. If you feel excluded, you’re not, I promise, you’re very welcome here. A track will play and you’ll hear me, and occasionally some friends, explain how a song came about, and then the song itself will follow. It’s a bit like a podcast but please feel free to choose your own adventure. This is an album for the real ones and if you got this far, that’s you!!”
This special songwriter project is one that Hastings is excited to finally share with the listener, which allows him to dive deeper into his songs’ backstories while sharing more deeply about the array of topics he covers in his debut – doubt, authenticity, faith, worship, imposter syndrome, being a husband and father, and ultimately a human.
His album debut was released on November 4, 2022, offering honest self-expression and dynamic songwriting, threaded throughout with Hastings’ uncanny ability to communicate vulnerable and authentic personal truths. As he explains, “It’s 25 songs each showing a different side of myself.”
Benjamin William Hastings is a world-traveling worship leader and member of Hillsong UNITED. His writing and vocals are featured on Hillsong UNITED’s RIAA® Certified Gold single “So Will I (100 Billion X)” and Hillsong Worship’s widely acclaimed “Seasons,” and he penned Cory Asbury’s No. 1 single “The Father’s House,” UNITED’s “Captain,” the church anthem “O Praise The Name (Anástasis),” and Brandon Lake’s “Gratitude,” among many others. Three-time GMA Dove Award-winning worship leader, singer-songwriter, author and podcaster Christy Nockels releases her four-song Valor EP today (Jan. 20) on Keeper’s Branch Records with global distribution via The Fuel Music. Available now at digital and streaming outlets worldwide via https://christynockels.lnk.to/valorepPR, the EP precedes this acclaimed worship artist’s first new, full-length studio album in over five years that is set to release February 24, 2023 (title to be announced soon).
Produced by her husband Nathan Nockels (Passion, Matt Redman, Laura Story), the Valor EP’s opening title track encourages noticing the faithfulness of God throughout our lives and how hardships, pain and trials are not for nothing.
“As odd as it sounds, when I wrote this song, I saw visions of pioneers and trailblazers—much like the ones I had seen in the TV series 1883 that aired only months before I began songwriting for this project,” shares Christy. “Yes, we know that history repeats itself, and Ecclesiastes 1:9 tells us that ‘there’s nothing new under the sun,’ but you and I are still new to the scene. We are pioneers in a strange world that we ourselves have never had to navigate before! Are we brave enough to be awake, alert, sober and surrendered in these times? Do we know what the true fight even is?
“My hope is that this song takes people on a journey—and trust me, it’s a journey—and that they find themselves still standing in a perfect Strength, knowing full well that they don’t face this hour alone!” continues Christy.
Co-writing “Christ In Me,” the second track on the EP, with her husband, Christy says, “I love that these two songs ended up being paired together as a part of this special release! After all, the song ‘Valor’ says, ‘Jesus, your cross, your death, your resurrection life in me—you will always be my valor!’ It is the life of Christ in us that gives us the very strength to stand in every circumstance and trial. And even more, His life in us looks like longings being fulfilled, joy realized and hopes met. No, our surroundings and situations and seasons may not always reflect this, but ‘Christ In Me’ says right from the get-go, ‘Jesus, you’re the strength that carries through, so I don’t want to live a day without you.’
“There have been many beautiful songs written about us being ‘in Christ’,” adds Christy, “but few that I know of that sing of Christ being ‘in us.’ Both are true and worthy of song!”
Rounding out the EP are two songs first released last fall, including “Come Magnify,” which is a beautifully simple response of heartfelt praise, and “Home,” a song inspired by John 14:23.
Amanda Danziger and Filipe Michael will released part two of their Seasons EP, titled Seasons Instrumental today, January 20, 2023. The project which initially launched on November 4, 2022 was created to emulate cinematic soundscapes, which Danziger describes as devotional worship.
“Devotional worship is a place of listening and stillness,” explains Danziger. “Over the years I have written every song I’ve done with my co-writer Filipe Michael, so I wanted to show that we are a team with our latest project Seasons. Filipe is the sole-composer of this project, while I have written the lyrics and melodies. Seasons Instrumental is going to give the listener a completely different experience — you’ll be able to hear all the nuances and creativity my co-writer put into composing Seasons. I hope listeners go into a quiet place for this experience when it releases.”
