Housefires New Album ‘How To Start A Housefire Part II’ Out Now

Upon its launch in 2014, Housefires became known as the music group that changed the landscape of the worship genre forever. With immersive live recordings, intimate “house church” sessions, and more, the group re-invented the genre to be a more inclusive and vulnerable space.

On Housefires’ new record ‘How To Start A Housefire Part II’ (out today via Capitol CMG / TRIBL Records), the music collective invites listeners to join in and transports them “into a visceral and celestial experience” (Forbes).

In ‘How To Start A Housefire Part II,’ the collection brings together a community of people from all different backgrounds for one purpose: providing a safe space for those who need an outlet to be vulnerable.

Listeners will hear a mix of R&B, soul, pop, gospel, and contemporary worship music across the 14 captivating tracks that create a lively atmosphere filled with celebratory anthems, lush instrumentation, and earth-shattering choruses. The new record follows Housefires’ ‘How To Start A Housefire,’ which was released on January 20th.

“We’ve all been through our own hells and journeys over the last several years,” says Housefires’ Blake Wiggins. “Now we are able to sing songs that look back and remind ourselves of what He’s done, how He’s gotten us through, and the ways He’s always been.

I’m excited that our testimonies and stories can meet up with the stories of everyone listening to this album, and together we can grow more in love with Jesus and the person He truly is.”

‘How To Start A Housefire Part II’ opens with the ‘90s R&B-infused “Can’t Nobody,” which is reminiscent of the Bee Gees’ “How Deep Is Your Love” and sets the tone for an album that uplifts, inspires, and offers comfort for those in dark places.

Matthew Parker & Xander Sallows Releases “Ebb & Flow”

Today, pop artists Matthew Parker and Xander Sallows release their new song “Ebb & Flow.”  The song is available on all digital service providers via DREAM Records.  Produced by Parker and co-written by both artists, the fresh pop sound is interwoven with lyrics that speak on not stressing about having it all together.

“When I got together with Xander to write this song, he said something like ‘I want to write a song called Ebb & Flow that’s about our relationship with God not always being at 100%.’ We’re not always perfect, and sometimes we feel closer to God and sometimes not as close, like the ebbing and flowing of the tide.

This song is saying that it’s okay to not be perfect–it’s okay that we’re living and learning and failing and growing. God has grace and he loves us. Everything is going to be okay even when we fall short, which is often. Don’t worry, we’ll get there! Just never give up hope and go with the ebb and the flow.“ – Matthew Parker

Sarah Kroger Releases First Fully Live Album Recorded In London

Sarah Kroger releases ‘The London Sessions‘ an album that marks a “meeting of the streams” moment for the Nashville-based singer-songwriter. The new album is the artist’s first completely live record, recorded just outside of London following Kroger’s first UK tour, marking another milestone in her international appeal.

As a Catholic, Kroger is no stranger to the global church, celebrating this as an opportunity to continue leaning into that side of her artistry and serving listeners beyond her native borders.

This project is a collection of intentionally chosen songs that tell of where Kroger has been musically over the past few years, both as a solo artist and as a part of various side projects and collectives. The songs were selected from her album “Light” (2020), as well as from her work with musical communities REVERE (2021), FAITHFUL (2021), and Village Lights (2021). “The London Sessions” emphasizes Kroger’s diverse creativity and highlights her smooth vocals, which shine through each of the 7 tracks.

“We went into this recording as a band saying to each other, ‘How would you want to hear this song live?’ After each person added their own flavor, my music director, Zorin McGuire, took all the flavors and made sure they worked together,” Kroger explains.

The new album is concluded with “What A Wonderful World” – a longtime favorite for Kroger who always includes it in her concert sets, creating an extra layer of the uniqueness and broad appeal of this album.

[Album] All To Jesus – Canyon Hills Worship

Seattle-based Worship team Canyon Hills Worship releases their new live album All To Jesus.  Their fourth full length album features their new radio single “Every Season” along with nine other live tracks as well as live videos.

All To Jesus was produced by Michael Monroe, Andy Soemo, Stephen Pelatzky, David Neuman  and was co-written by Raymond Gregory, Michael Monroe, Koby Orr (Canyon Hills Worship) and Brandon Coker, Clay Finnesand (North Point Worship).

“Most of these songs were written at writing camps with our good friends Clay Finnesand and Brandon Coker from North Point Worship”, says Michael Monroe of Canyon Hills Worship.  “They have become our constant collaborators.  There’s something so special about writing with good friends.  Getting to know the ins and outs of each other’s lives and walks with Jesus.  These songs all came from a special place of honesty and vulnerability in those settings.”

The 10-song album showcases the live experience at Canyon Hills Community Church.  The album also features live version of popular songs like “Mercy Of Jesus”, “Surrender” and “On and On.”

“Our heart as a band has always been to write songs for our church.  For the people that the Lord has entrusted to us to lead in worship.  There is something so special about singing a new song all together in that room.  This project was born out of a desire to continue singing new songs to the Lord at Canyon Hills.  What a blessing it is to see these songs starting to impact people outside of our four walls.” – Michael Monroe, Canyon Hills Worship
