[Album] This Is Our Worship – King’s Norwich

King’s Norwich Worship is releasing a collection of songs, This Is Our Worship, on 24th November 2023. The first EP for the artist based at King’s Community Church in Norwich, the album will be preceded by two singles I Love You Lord and Forever And A Day on the 3rd and 17th November respectively.

Available on all major streaming platforms, the EP comprises six songs, written and performed by Ben Lock, Joe Bunton, and John Raspin. This Is Our Worship covers a breadth of topics, combining the contemplative and adoring with joyful declarations of God’s character and grace.

Bound to be a new, fresh addition to worship playlists everywhere, the album is for any person to listen to and make their own, the soundtrack for everyday worship, whatever the time, place, or situation. Beautifully layered, produced, and full of biblical truth, the songs are diverse in mood and tone but wonderfully united as one long love letter to Jesus.

“As a worship leader, the words of the Psalms have often resonated with me and I find myself continually going back to them for inspiration, guidance and challengeAcross all the sites at King’s Community Church there is a high regard on times of sung worship together; most weeks at least half the time of our Sunday morning meetings consist of singing songs of praise”, says Joe Bunton, from King’s Norwich Worship on what initiated the album-writing process.

“The importance of teaching good theology while leading worship to a congregation often weighs on my heart as I’m choosing set lists and picking songs for a Sunday. More and more I was finding new songs that either needed a bit of theological explanation before leading them or had sections that I questioned whether I fully believed in. This highlighted to me the importance of leading songs that reflect the theology of your local church and acted as one of the catalysts for me, and others in the church, to begin seriously writing songs that could be led and sung with conviction in our church.”

This Is Our Worship will be available on major music platforms, including Spotify, Amazon, Apple Music and YouTube.

Unified Sound Releases ‘Cantaremos (En Vivo)’

Unified Sound releases their awaited debut album, “Cantaremos (En Vivo),” a 10-song “journey of worship” that takes listeners through revisited, lively versions of influential songs that have shaped the Church over the past few years.

The band is comprised of musicians and worship leaders from various cities, all playing an integral part in their Hispanic church communities and enriching their music with a unique Latin flavor.

“Our mission is to play a vital role in sharing a unique and refreshing musical expression that reflects the essence of God’s heart encompassing worship from people of all tribes and languages,” said band leader Joel Lopez. “Cantaremos (En Vivo)” features various artists such as Dr. Ron Kenoly, Ingrid Rosario, Abraham Velazquez, and more.

With their new album, Unified Sound aspires to awaken a passion for worship in the Church, which they uniquely express in a genre that sets itself apart from most of today’s North American worship sounds.

“We believe in the power of embracing diverse elements from our beautiful world and various cultures, uniting together to craft a harmonious sound that binds the body of Christ in worship,” Lopez concluded. “Cantaremos (En Vivo)” highlights the joy of worshipping God in community.

Jason Gray’s ‘Land Of The Living’ Album Out Now

Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Jason Gray releases his full-length album, Land of the Living. On the new album, this beloved Centricity Music recording artist is less of a host and more of a participant in the stories he’s telling.

Rather than leading listeners on a journey revolving around a central theme like he did with 2020’s Order Disorder Reorder, this album serves up a batch of pop-friendly, radio-ready contenders primed for conversation.

“Concept albums tend to ask something of the listener,” Gray says in regard to Land of the Livings predecessor. “This record is a little bit more, ‘Thank you for your attention. That was the meat. Let’s have a little dessert.’”

This cherry-on-top addition to his catalog is full of meaningful songs marked by Gray’s remarkable ability to plumb the depths of the human experience — all within the confines of a three-minute pop song.

For each of the dozen tracks on Land of the Living, there’s always one question Gray asks when he walks into a writing room: How do we tell the truth today? Yet, he proposes there’s another question that’s often a quicker route to the heart of the matter: What are we afraid to talk about today?

He discovered the answer to that question when he penned “Worth Staying For,” arguably the most personal song of his entire career. Written with Andy Gullahorn, the autobiographical selection uncovers Gray’s scars as he shares his core fear of abandonment, a wound inflicted in his childhood when his father left, and that was reopened years later during a painful divorce.

“I was scared to release that one,” he confesses, “because as a writer, you don’t want to be the victim or the hero of your songs.” Gray ultimately holds himself accountable as he traces the trauma from its point of entry to the ways “pain will be transmitted if it doesn’t get transformed.”

Other topics he covers on Land of the Living aren’t nearly as heavy, yet, just like Gray, they’re exceptionally thoughtful. He excavates Psalm 27 on the title-cut, explores childlike wonder on “When I Grow Up,” celebrates biblical manhood on “Good Man” and wrestles with doubt on “Questions.”

Lead single “Place For Me,” produced and engineered by GRAMMY Award-winning Jeff Sojka (Jeremy Camp, Crowder) and mixed by Sean Moffit (Chris Tomlin, NEEDTOBREATHE), was birthed out of Gray’s own weighty baggage from the church, a place he’s ultimately found to be a refuge for the sinner and saint alike.

“At its best, the church offers a place of belonging based on our need for grace, for each other, for help and for guidance,” Gray says of the message behind the upbeat offering he co-wrote with Matt Armstrong and Ethan Hulse. “

It’s where different people, who don’t necessarily agree with each other, come together and manage to point their hearts in the same direction for a couple hours every week, and that’s beautiful.”

Land of the Living also features the tongue-in-cheek quirkiness of “Jesus Loves You (And I’m Trying),” the pop-centric “Be Kind,” and the Gospel-inflected, choir-assisted “When I Say Yes.”

While his music has always given listeners a safe space to work out the details of life, faith and relationship, the veteran artist reveals that he finds himself writing from a different perspective on Land of the Living. “I now see songwriting as trying to offer healing language to the world,” Gray says. “

It makes it less egocentric. It’s not about me expressing myself. Instead, it’s about me trying to love my audience well by writing words that might help them express things they need better language for.”

Sarah Kroger Releases First Christmas EP ‘Light Has Come’

Sarah Kroger releases “Light Has Come,” her first-ever Christmas project featuring worshipful originals and festive classics. Having done a Christmas tour for the past decade and having released a few songs for the occasion last year, she expands her seasonal setlist with the new EP. Her heart to unite the Church in worship shining through each track.

“Light Has Come” introduces Sarah’s new song “Ave (King of Kings)” written with Matt Maher and Nick Herbert. The song is based on the powerful canticle of Mary from Luke chapter 1. “In my opinion, this prayer shows that she was a woman of great faith who understood that God had a plan for her life beyond what she could comprehend for herself,” Sarah commented.

Meaning “hail,” the Latin word “ave” is a very intentional addition to this song of exultation, declaration, and faith as Sarah seeks to remind listeners of God’s worthiness throughout the Advent season with new EP “Light Has Come.”
