[Album] It Needs To Be Said – Mitch Wong

Australian songwriter and worship leader Mitch Wong shares his latest project It Needs To Be Said.

It is my joy to finally share this album with you.

It begins with the sound of fire… a spark in the wilderness… a mayday call to the prophets who are weary from holding in the Word of God and the ripping off of anything that tries to prevent us from proclaiming it.

I sense such an urgency over the times that we are living in. As a songwriter, I have never felt more convicted that we cannot settle to write “on-trend” but we must write “on-assignment.” The assignment for this project was to declare the greatness of God as well as the neglected truths, the harder topics, the things that we often shy away from talking about but are actually the very ingredients needed for a pure and holy church.

If you make it to the end of the album, you’ll hear the piano playing and the sound of me writing John 8:31-32 on a piece of paper — ‘Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”’ The last thing you’ll hear is a “dot dot dot”… a sign that the story isn’t over and our work here isn’t done.

I pray that the silence that follows would be filled with the fresh Word of the Lord, new inspiration, a rhema revelation, a message He gives you that needs to be said to a world who is desperately thirsty for truth.

His Word is a fire in our bones. It has power to bring sinners to salvation, to bring saints to their knees and to bring heaven to earth. I hope that I have faithfully stewarded it in these songs and I pray blessing over you, your families and your homes as you listen. –Mitch Wong
