1K Phew & Lecrae Win Rap/Hip-Hop Album Of The Year At The 37th Annual Stellar Awards
At the 37th Annual Stellar Awards, 1K Phew & Lecrae won the coveted Stellar Award for Rap/Hip Hop Gospel Album of the Year for their album, No Church In A While, released December 3, 2021, on Reach Records. No Church In A While featured ten tracks, including âWildin,â âReady Or Not,â âMove It,â âOne Call,â âWhat We Gon Do,â âAmen,â âBlockhead,â âBorn Sinner,â âSave Us,â and the title track.

In addition to their big win of the night, 1K Phew and Lecrae received a nomination for three additional awards, âDuo/Chorus/Group Of The Year,â âRap/Hip Hop Song Of The Yearâ for the albumâs single, âOne Callâ and âMusic Video of the Yearâ for its video directed by Caleb Seales & Jerrell Green.
1K Phew accepted the award on behalf of himself and Lecrae who was out of town performing. He opened his acceptance speech thanking Jesus, shouting out Lecrae, his wife, and Reach Records stating, âItâs normal if people donât understand your calling. When God gave us our calling it wasnât a conference call, it was just for us. Iâm glad we had the courage to answer the call and Iâm happy to see the response and celebration for the albumâ! âIâm especially excited to win this award in my city, Atlanta! Gospel Rap is Back!â Lecrae adds, âExtremely grateful to have our music celebrated by my brothers and sisters in Faith at The Stellars!â
Reach Records also represented at The Stellars with Wande, performing her hit single, âThey Didnât Know II.â
