Gospel music minister Joke Akande releases her prophetic 3rd single for the year 2022 titled “My Child (Wa Dogun).”

The Soulful music is a prophetic prayer channeled through rhythm to children all over the world both born and unborn. It is quite apt for the season, seeing that Nigerian Children’s Day (May 27th) is in view.

Speaking about the new single, Joke Akande who is a blessed mother and wife said the journey that birthed the song started about 10 years ago but it was last year that it climaxed into its full interpretation.

“When I became a first-time mum, I was inspired to journal my experience – the happy moments and all my emotions as a mother,” Joke Akande said.

“My love for children and good education later inspired me to start a school. During this period, God gave me a word, which is found in Isaiah 60:22. Ever since, I have run with this word; in fact, it has morphed to be a prophecy over every child that is enrolled in the school.

“Some years later, God blessed my family with another baby. Having had 10 good years to think of what I could have done differently the first and second time, I obeyed the Lord’s instruction to journal and resolved to journal dutifully this time.

“Exactly a year ago, I had just finished having a great time in prayer when this chorus bubbled within me and I began to sing: ‘Waa dogun, waa dogbon…’ and of course, it ended with the word I had been prophesying over all the children in my care: ‘a little one shall become a thousand.’

“Then, my journal inspired the verses for the song.

“Next was answering the question: ‘So, what would you say to your older children?’

“‘These people that I have been praying for? Iyen easy..’ And the song “My Child” came together. Then God said to me, “Go ahead and be a blessing with this song.”

“Undoubtedly, “My child” is that song you will love. Asides the fact that it is great music, the song takes you through a mother’s journey & gives you a parent’s declaration.

“I see this song as a means to readily prophesy the word over our precious children born and yet to be born.

“For where the word of a king is, there is power….” Ecclesiastes 8:4a.”

“My Child” by Joke Akande was produced by Wilson Joel (Music Magnate) and is complemented with a music video shot in Canada by Ken Ogbo, a Hollywood video and FX Director who has worked on movies, like Black Panther, Game of Thrones and Justice League.

Gospel music minister Joke Akande is out with her sophomore single, making it the second single released this year. She aptly titles the new release “Eyin Ni (You Are God).”

The worship single with the literal meaning as “it is you” accredits the Supreme One as the essence of life. It pours out adulation to the owner of the heavens who is greater than the heavens. It is a Contemporary Worship single rendered in English with a splash of the Yoruba dialect of the Western part of Nigeria.

Speaking on the new single, Joke Akande posited:

“[This is] one of the best and most authentic songs I have written [and it was] produced by the wonderful Wilson Joel (Music Magnate). This song is a worship song that was not planned for, it just happened through the ministration of the Holy Spirit.”

The single is coming on the heels of the widely accepted EDM sound released in February titledThe earlier released single is apparently her debut and it was strong enough to establish Joke Akande as a force to reckon with.

oke started singing from a tender age in the Apostolic Church’s children’s choir and participated in various programs along the years. She was a committed choir member of TACSFON and a member of interdenominational music groups such as The Oratorio founded by Oyindamola Adejumo (Olorun Mi Mohun Ti O Se), The Hannahrites, JCCF and UJCM during her undergraduate days. Also, she served as part of the choir and worship teams in almost all the churches she has attended.

She is a Business Administration professional with specialty in human resources, communication and corporate strategic support. She is happily married and blessed with children.

The much-anticipated debut single by Canadian-based Gospel music minister Joke Akande titled “Amazing God” is finally out!

The Mindustry went agog last week as the new artiste announced last week that her debut single which is unconventionally, in the class of EDM will be out today the 11th of February, 2022.

The song speaks about the love of God for us. It was inspired by the Holy Spirit as Joke meditated on the book of Ephesians. The song expressly speaks on Chapter 2 vs 8-12 in its narration.

“Amazing God” is a very bold statement for a first single and it is bound to appeal to a wide range of audience because of its urban and trendy composition. What is even more is the upbeat vibe which is a plus to the appeal as many listeners will be stirred into the tone and mood.
