Finally, time is up for a new single from arguably one of the most interesting artists in UK gospel music right now, Hannah Ola. The poised award-winning artist has a new masterpiece titled Issokay, a personal favourite for the simple reason that it makes your body move.
“I have sat on this track for a while, waiting for the right time to drop it. It’s the title track in my latest body of work (a banging six-track EP) produced by SMJ of the Tim Godfrey Rox Nation stable,” she explained.
“I wrote it after receiving unexpected bad news about someone else which was threatening to impact me. Crazy thoughts came flying until out of nowhere I started singing the chorus you hear today.”
Issokay can be described as “Afro-pop with a hint of classic African highlife music”. It’s a fresh sound that seems to be very popular with a certain age bracket, and you’d love it!
Let the lyrics of this song speak to you. Get encouraged if you have a troubling situation. Know that with God, everything Issokay! Everything is under the best control when submitted to God.
After a successful ISSOKAY EP launch on the last day of, 2018, UK Based Gospel Music Minister Hannah Ola continues her Kingdom conquest with the introduction of another high-quality, horn-sounding and infectious Afro-jazz inspired Fela-like single, NO WORRY.
To discerning ears, the entire thrust of her latest masterpiece comes with a hint of ragga, biblical text and reassures that God has us covered. The resonating lyrics of NO WORRY vibrates with a summary that things may look messy and out of shape, but God has good plans in place we only need to stay in His will and have no reason to worry. Giving a short and sweet inspiration of the song, award-winning Hannah Ola said, “I was reflecting on how in the journey of a believer, bad things can (and do) happen and it is easy to fearfully flip when not deeply rooted in faith and God’s love. But always, God works things together for our good. There’s no need to worry!”.
For weeks after failed attempts, to record the song with no success and preoccupied with its hook, for the last time, Hannah Ola gave gifted Nigerian producer, Segigo a try. The music output was just amazing. “He got it,” she exclaimed. “It was like he was in my head. I was able to birth the song fully because of that”.
It’s actually thrilling having the gospel of Christ branded in various genres of music, Indeed some Zealous Afro listeners just got served.
