Christian blogger, creative writer and press agent Alex Amos is out with his second Rap & Hip Hop single titled “Not Afraid,” featuring prolific producer and artiste Teekaywitty.

“Not Afraid” is a statement of freedom and victory. A believer’s anthem as informed by the knowledge and truth of the finished work of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour

The song flashes back on the journey of Alex Amos, from hopelessness and helplessness to a firm foundation, standing on Jesus Christ, the Solid Rock. It emphasizes that the basis for the hope and courage we have is our identity in the One who lives in us. Therefore we can no longer be intimidated nor held captive by our fallible nature which has kept us from the victorious life for a long time.

“Not Afraid” adapts the Trap music style, with a catchy hook as laid by the multi talented Teekaywitty.

Amos had released a 10 year-old recording in June 2020 titled “Heaven.” Another of his singles in the Trap music sub-genre. The latest release is a follow up on the effort.

AfroGospel artist Munachi releases a new single “iRepJesus” which features Christian blogger Alex Amos and also, member of Munachi’s Soulwinners crew Posyble TGB.

The single iRep Jesus is off his soon to be released mixtape “Vibes From The Church.”

The street anthem started off as a freestyle session but Munachi decided to put the song on wax and also engage Posyble and Alex on a verse each. It unapologetically flaunts Jesus, as the 3 artists attempt to sum up the core of their identity in Jesus Christ.

iRepJesus is coming after the release of Munachi’s latest EP titled ‘Justified (The Deluxe Version),’ which was released in January of 2021. Munachi is not the type to hoard his music. In the past one year, he has released atleast 3 EPs namely – the critically acclaimed “No Lele,” “Psalms of a Hood Boy” and more recently “Justfied (The Deluxe Version).”

2021 already looks promising for the Urban AfroGospel artiste as he continues on his streak of music releases and videos from his Soulwinners stable.

SelahAfrik‘s head honcho, Alex Amos digs into a 10-year-old archive to deliver the Christian Hip Hop song titled “Heaven.” The song featuring the vocals of singer Tamara Ebidi, is a walk into the psyche of the average Nigerian youth, thrust into the socio-economic hardship that demarcates dreams from realities with a huge gap; put up against the backdrop of the Christian Faith.

Alex speaks of a place of escape where there are no guilt, regrets, struggles nor strive and compares such peace with what Heaven must be like. Having justified that Heaven is both a location and a state of mind, he breaks into worship as led by the voice of Tamara Ebidi.

“I wrote ‘Heaven’ at a time when I was trying to understand what true happiness really is. Is it the fulfillment of your dreams and aspirations? Is it the fulfillment of the purpose for which God put you on earth? Is it being able to secure a well paying job or just having enough money to live a good life? Or is happiness a by-product of joy, which is a state that defies the external factors, either good or bad. I tried to address these in the 3 verses of the song but I am leaving you to decide,” Alex Amos said.

The chorus of the song was adapted from the original song released in the early 90s, titled “Mimo” by The Choir, C&S Movement Church, Surulere District HQ (Ayo Ni O) as led by Pro. (Dr) Sunday Funso Korode. It was rearranged by popular producer Young D. The Trap music instrumentation was produced by Teekaywitty of Henrisoul‘s “Bad Man” fame.
