Nigerian recording artiste and Singer-songwriter, Pastor Ozi unveils the video for his latest single “My Paddy”. They say it is darkest before dawn but in the history of Nigeria sometimes it is hard to say when it is darkest or if there is something darker on the way.

The gloom that has prevailed over the country aftermath the happenings at Lekki on 20-10-2010 has been unprecedented in recent times but out of the gloom comes My Paddy by Pastor Ozi. The groovy African praise tune features Joeblings and was originally released a couple of weeks back.

My Paddy is a tribute to God for His faithfulness and His ability to turn things around from the worst to the very best.

According to Pastor Ozi, My Paddy is inspired by Philippians 1:28, Isaiah 41:10-12 and the song comes tailor-made for times like this when the nation is in so much pain and despair with loss of lives and properties that Nigerians have suffered in recent days.

My Paddy is packed full with words of encouragement and seeks to motivate Christians to embrace the Holy Spirit as our friend in every situation especially when the situation is beyond our control.

The video for the African praise banger is beautiful and very colourful, inspired by our cultural regalia and superb dance styles. The video features Pastor Ozi, Joeblings with colourful dancers on a beach and it is shot by ace director Spencer and directed by Sugar Daddy.

Pastor Ozi has released a slew of singles in recent times and is currently working on his debut album titled More Than A Conqueror which is slated for the end of year release. It is a project to be highly anticipated.

Gospel music singer Ani Light is back with a beautiful song of encouragement titled “Only Believe” produced by Best Piano.

The single is delivered in her predominant genre of expression – RetroPop. With her crystal crisp high octave, Ani uses the scripture as a basis for motivation as she encourages her listeners, emphasizing that “anything is possible, if you believe.”

UK based music artist Mojisola returns with a stunning cover of the evergreen classic “Count on Me” by Whitney Houston and Cece Winans.

A song which reflects on the spirit of love, friendship and trust comes at a very timely season where the world is in dire need of.

The Pray crooner expressed her feeling about how honored she felt doing this, in celebration of Black History Month.

Count On Me was written by Kenneth Babyface Edmunds, Whitney and Michael Houston; a duet recorded by Grammy award winning legends Whitney Houston and Cece Winans , who have been very influential in my musical journey as a Recording Artiste.

The song is a soundtrack to the hit film Waiting to Exhale released in 1995.

I had the pleasure of recording this cover in celebration of these two musical legends for Black History Month, Courtesy of the BBC Cambridgeshire Radio and BBC Upload Show, which aired on 20-10-2020

I dedicate this cover release to the victims and families of the Lekki Toll Gate Massacre in Lagos Nigeria, which incidentally happened on the same day the cover aired on BBC Radio.
