Lift Every Voice and Sing – Brandon Camphor & Oneway

Billboard charting Pop-Gospel group, Brandon Camphor & One Way, have recorded a brilliant acapella rendition of the Black National Anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing” (One Way Movement/ Warner Music Group), in celebration of Black Music Month.  “It’s not only an anthem,” says Camphor. “It’s also a prayer of thanksgiving to God for His faithfulness and our freedom. That’s what inspired us to record it.”

Three of the Washington, D.C.-based foursome of Julia McMillanFred ClevelandAngela Marie Jones, and group leader, Brandon Camphor, have been singing the song since their days as students at the Duke Ellington School for the Performing Arts. “Angela and I were in the school choir together, Fred was in the theater department,” Camphor recalls. “We sang that at almost every school concert.”

“After the great response to our acapella `Happy Birthday, Jesus’ Christmas song last year, we realized that people really liked hearing us deliver acapella music,” Camphor adds. “It’s also a way to showcase the group’s vocal ability, harmony, and style.”

The song was composed by James Weldon Johnson as a poem in 1900. His brother, J. Rosamond Johnson, set it to music in 1905 in recognition of Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. In 1919, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) proclaimed it the Negro national anthem. Over the years, the song has resonated with new generations. It’s referenced in Maya Angelou’s 1969 autobiography, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. Motown legend Kim Weston opened the WattStax concert film with her take on it. Branford Marsalis’ rendition was featured in Spike Lee’s 1989 film, Do the Right Thing. Melba Moore commandeered an all-star version n 1990 with a host of R&B stars Beyoncé performed it at Coachella in 2018.

Over the last decade, the group has earned four Billboard Top 30 chart hits with the songs, “God of Mercy,” “His Name,” “You Are God,” and their biggest hit yet, “I Choose You,” which peaked at No. 21 on the Gospel Airplay chart in 2015.

The audio and a music video of the 2-minute rendition is now available on Apple Music, iTunes, and YouTube;

Download Mp3 : Weak Without You – Lydia Jim-Agada

Lydia Jim-Agada out with a new song ‘Weak without You’. We can do nothing without the Lord. Life is meaningless, directionless, hopeless without Him.

Life gets tiring without Him. The reason some get depressed and give up in life is simply because they are living without Christ. But all you have to do is give it all to Him.

Surrender your all, give Him your life, let Him take you, break you, mould you and use you for His glory. Giving up is not the way forward. Depression, suicidal tendencies, giving up on life is never the option.

So say to Him, “Lord I surrender my all to You; because I am #WeakWithoutYou!

Be blessed by the song, Weak Without You by Lydia Jim-Agada
Produced by Andrew on Keys (East Ham, London) & Walker on the Beats (Abuja, Nigeria)

[Music Video] Irregular – Gil Joe

Popular Afrogospel singer and pioneer of the genre, Gil Joe has set the ball rolling for greater things ahead of his career by releasing a video for “Irregular”, one of the songs off his Afrobeats-centered “Eternal Life & Vibrations” EP.

The song draws its title from describing the uniqueness of God’s love.

This is the first video for any of the six songs off the EP and its theme sits just perfectly with the message of the song. “Irregular” describes the warmth of God’s love on Gil Joe (and whoever listens to and sings the song), and paints a picture of the times when it could have only been God that came through for the artist.

The track, which was produced by Gil Joe himself, is the leading one off the EP and has a very strong Afrobeats kick to it. As a result, it’s almost impossible for any head that hears it to not nod in tune with its rhythm — something that has been very well represented through Gil Joe’s dance moves in the video.

This video was directed by Eduvie and you can check it out below:

[Music] Never Lose – Eddy Puyol

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Never lose. Seems impossible. Nobody succeeds 100 percent of the time. We’re all human and certain to take an occasional “L,” right?

Sure, it may be unreasonable to expect literal perfection in every facet of life, but what about on a mental level? Can’t you still maintain that mindset to overcome daily challenges?

Eddy Puyol believes so. It’s the mantra he carried for years under the Rawsrvnt moniker and one he continues to embody in the music recorded and released under the name he was given at birth.

“Never Lose” is also the title of his latest single.

“I’m resilient,” Puyol said. “After everything I’ve recently gone through, I found that if I take the high road, don’t sweat the small stuff, and play the long game – I’ll win.”

Eddy wrote the tune while watching football with his young daughters with the beat playing in the background. Inspired by the action on the screen, he began experimenting with word combinations and hit upon the “Never lose, only win” chorus. “All gas, no brakes” shortly followed and was immediately repeated by his kids.

“It was then I knew I had a hit,” Puyol said.

The track is reminiscent of previous sports anthems Puyol created that were licensed for sports broadcasts like the NBA Finals, NBA Draft, and NFL games.
