Nigerian born Urban Gospel rapper and singer, Sam Jamz comes through with Spanking new single, “Play Myself“.
Play Myself, a chill, Afrobeat song is based on Sam Jamz’s convictions to not conform to the fleeting desires in the world but rather fix his gaze on Christ.
Produced by Paragon, Mixed and Mastered by Osadebey, Play Myself is a follow-up to Sam Jamz’ EP, GPS which was released at the tail end of 2020.
Gotee Records award-winning artist and songwriter Ryan Stevenson is back with new music this week.
Stevenson shared a reimagined version of “Through It All” now featuring BEC Recordings’ breakout singer/songwriter Tasha Layton. “Through It All” was originally released in June 2020 on his Wildest Dreams collection. Stevenson promises this new track is a taste of new music he is gearing up to release.
With lyrics like “Woe to you rich man..” and “be sure your sin will find you out,” Weston Skaggs wastes no time in diving deep into themes that are taken directly from the Bible on his new single, “Rich Man” set to release through Old Bear Records on July 16th.
Much like Keith Green, or Larry Norman before him, Weston Skaggs’s style of a mix of baritone and falsetto voice undergirded and wrapped with music and arrangements that could have been written and arranged by Brian Wilson or the Flaming Lips attracts a listening ear to the interesting instrumentation at play that softens the very direct and powerful truths conveyed in his lyrics.
By the time you realize you are being challenged with a song that could double as a sermon, its too late. You’re already invested by the sweeping sounds, and pleasant melodies coming through your speakers or air pods. In a way, “Rich Man” is an audio trojan horse of sorts and we’re here for it. This is a song that is clear in its presentation of the Gospel and its primary transgressor in need of grace (you’ll find as you reach the end of the song) is the performer himself.

Curb | Word Entertainment pop artist and songwriter Sarah Reeves premieres poignant new song, “Years”. The track, which Reeves penned at the height of the global pandemic, is a hopeful ode to an unprecedented year.
“Last year in quarantine, I decided to sit down and write out my feelings,” shares Reeves of the resilient track. “I felt the heaviness of the world, yet I knew it wouldn’t last forever. The hope would come, and we would look back with stories to tell. On the other side of it, I decided to have the song produced and that became ‘Years.’”
“These are the days we’ll talk about for years,” Reeves reflects as she places a lyrical timestamp on this moment in history collectively endured around the world. Produced by Mokita, the introspective “Years” was co-written by Reeves, Ian Keaggy and John-Luke Carter and serves as the first taste of new music from Reeves since Life Love & Madness debuted in the Top 5 of the iTunes Singer/Songwriter album chart upon release last fall.
This year, Reeves has already dropped three new remixes of songs from that acclaimed album, including “Anxious (Mokita Remix),” “Not My Style (R3HAB Remix)” and “Dance To It (Luca Schreiner Remix).” Additionally, the songstress was recently featured on Armin Van Buuren’s latest single, “Tell Me Why,” and on The Belonging Co.’s “Eyes On You” and “Holy Sound,” two tracks from their brand new full-length album, See The Light.
GRAMMY®-nominated Hillsong Young & Free released their newest single “Phenomena (DA DA)” alongside an accompanying lyric visual and live performance video. Recorded in front of a live audience, “Phenomena (DA DA)” encapsulates the feverous energy of a crowd on fire for God’s love.
Hard-hitting and melodically anthemic, with a rap interlude, the new track proclaims, “You’ve given me Your vision/ Better than a dream/ You ain’t gotta wake me up/ It’s not a fantasy.”
Set against an enthusiastic, pulsing crowd, the live performance visual and high-energy track deliver the boundary-pushing, classically-contemporary sound Hillsong Young & Free has made their signature.
“‘Phenomena!’ or also known as ‘da da da da da da,’ is a song that gets into your head and into your heart,” says Hillsong Young & Free’s Laura Toggs. “It’s a statement song about the true reality we have in Jesus.
Hillsong Young & Free’s latest single follows the group’s most recent release of the acoustic version of their hit album, “ALL OF MY BEST FRIENDS.” The original full-length project that released in August 2020 earned the group a 2021 GRAMMY® nomination for “Best Contemporary Christian Album” and marked their second career nomination. Listen to “SIMPLE” HERE.
The catchy track features Joe L Barnes, who’s also credited as a writer on the song. “There’s nothing we could buy or change about ourselves that will make God love us any more. The song says, ‘all the best things in life are free.’ That’s home, family, love, etc. and that’s what we’ve found and want young people to experience for themselves,” says Barnes.
“When we sat down to write this song, we were looking for a way to communicate that nothing replaces the significance found in being accepted for who we are in Christ,” says Davide Mutendji of ELEVATION RHYTHM. Today, the group is also releasing a video of “SIMPLE.”
