As inspired by the Holy Spirit, this beautiful song came rolling through. David Oke A.G.S (aka MC Rhema) releases live performance music video for his new single titled THE GOSPEL ANTHEM.
“The Gospel Anthem” has its root in John 12 verse 32 and Romans 1 verse 16 as written by David Oke A.G.S. In the song, everyone choruses “Jesus, be lifted high as you draw all men to yourself”. As the first single from “The Finished Work (Live)” album, “The Gospel Anthem (Live)” is a sound of worship like no other. As Jesus is lifted, He is drawing all men to Himself as we declare the Gospel to all men and submit to His will in worship.
The Gospel Anthem is mid-tempo, almost like an upbeat with elements of CCM. It has Jesus as its center and core. It is all about Jesus.”Recorded Live at GOFAMINT House of Restoration, Georgia.
Grammy-winning music artist Kirk Franklin has teamed up with Compassion International to re-release his single, “Lean on Me,” featuring the voices of youth living in poverty around the world.
For the past several months, Franklin has been working with youth from all 25 countries in Compassion’s child development program. Through virtual auditions and rehearsals, the Compassion Youth Choir, made up of more than 120 youth, ages 11-19, worked with the artist to record the song, which was originally released in 1998.
After a trip to the Dominican Republic with Compassion in early 2020, Franklin felt called by God to use his talents, platform, and personal story to inspire youth around the world to pursue their own giftings.
In late 2020, Compassion sent out a call to youth in its field countries, where the ministry serves children in poverty, to participate in a virtual choir. Franklin was originally planning on selecting winners from each country to participate in the choir, but after reviewing video submissions from the youth, he was so moved by their talent and passion that he chose everyone who auditioned to participate in the project.
Franklin shares, “It was such an honor working with so many young, talented, and gifted kids from across the globe! I’m grateful to the team at Compassion International for giving me the opportunity to serve in this capacity.”
During the virtual sessions, Franklin provided vocal coaching, answered questions about his life and musical career, and even taught the group some dance moves.
Eleven-year-old Yshara from the Philippines says she enjoyed the entire process. “I’m very excited to be part of the youth choir, to show everyone my talent in singing, and to be with other singers from different places.” She says her favorite part of working with Franklin was hearing his life experience and improving as a singer.
Maria, 18, from Nicaragua adds, “My favorite part was to hear Kirk’s testimony and his words of motivation and inspiration – that if you can dream about something, you can reach it in Christ Jesus.”
“I feel extremely happy to be selected,” says Kakama, 18, from Uganda. Born without arms, Kakama began to realize he was musically talented at age 16. “I feel God has blessed me so much, beyond what words can explain.”
Franklin concludes, “It’s unbelievable that a song like this still resonates with so many people. I pray this version provides a little hope for the people across the globe.”
Fo Yo Soul/RCA Records and Franklin will donate proceeds from the sales and streams of the song to Compassion.
Austin Ludwig gives it all back in his newly released single, Breath of the Father.
Birthed out of a spontaneous worship moment at Ludwig’s church, Breath of the Father is a response to give God back what He first gave us.
“The heart behind Breath of the Father is that we would recognize our absolute need for Holy Spirit to worship God. Jesus tells us in John 4 that a time will come when the true worshippers will worship in spirit and in truth. This asserts that God’s spirit, His breath, is a necessary part of becoming true worshippers,” says Ludwig. “Worship is simply this exchange of giving back to God what He first gave us. We continuously pour out as we are poured into.”
Written and produced by Ludwig and Spenser Boice, the team penned the song to help provide new language around the role of the Holy Spirit in worship.
“I think that in corporate settings we still to this day have a bent toward looking externally for God’s presence. God does choose to manifest His presence in many ways through signs and wonders, but I believe it’s critical that we remember the New Covenant is all about indwelling presence,” says Ludwig. “Holy Spirit is not just God with you, but is God in you. When we live in this reality, we recognize that Holy Spirit can stir our hearts with affection for Jesus. Worship doesn’t have to be something we muster up in our own strength, but we can invite Holy Spirit to pastor us into becoming true worshippers.”
As Worship Pastor of Riverstone Church in Kennesaw, Ga., Ludwig says Breath of the Father has already resonated with the church’s community.
“Breath of the Father has been great for our church because it is a reminder that worship is impossible in our own strength,” he says. “I also feel like this song begets unity, especially when we sing the bridge which was inspired by Acts 2. I believe God breathes on unity in a special way.”
Although the song was written for corporate worship, Ludwig says he hopes that people are reminded that the greatest worship leader of all is the Holy Spirit.
“I hope that first and foremost this song invites people into a deeper appreciation for Holy Spirit. We don’t need some man or woman on the stage to lead us into worship, but wherever we are, Holy Spirit can inspire our hearts toward deeper affection for Jesus,” he shares. “I want listeners to be filled as they sing and recognize that we are actually incapable of truly worshipping without the revelation that Holy Spirit gives us.”
