Munday Martin was inspired to write “The Fix Is In” while he was suffering tremendously from a bad case of COVID pneumonia which took him to the emergency room twice because of low oxygen levels.

A melody came to him in the night which he knew was from the Lord. Even though he was suffering, the song brought him great joy. He proceeded to record the demo during his sickness.

Martin’s producer, John Mark Painter from the band Fleming and John, immediately loved it. Martin believes we are all fighting a great spiritual battle and it’s time to see an awakening in the church through Renaissance, revival, and creativity to reach the lost. This song is intended to cross over into the mainstream market with the hopes of opportunities to share Martin’s powerful testimony.

“The Fix Is In” is an allegory written about Satan and his kingdom of darkness trying to take over the world. The aliens are our fight against demons. Martin imagined this allegory flying over Area 51 in his mind. He proclaims that the aliens are here, they don’t come in peace, and to tell all of your neighbors!

The music video for the song released on YouTube last week as an indie film adventure in this purposefully B-Side Sci-Fi extravaganza. “There is an urgency to tell everyone we are running out of time,” shares Martin. “The added comic relief is key to this music video. We all need comic relief in these times we are living in. When you hear the song and see the music video, it will definitely remind you of Steve Taylor, who is one of my biggest inspirations for doing music.”

Record-setting hard rock queen Lacey Sturm has released an offering of mystery and romance with “Awaken Love.” The song is available on all major streaming platforms at https://slinky.to/AwakenLove.

Both atmospheric and intimate, “Awaken Love” is a string-driven ballad that Lacey co-wrote with Skillet’s Korey Cooper. The song explores what it feels like to be immersed in the transcendent experience of perfect love.

“With lyrics, I go into a place where I try to hear what the song is about. I have to learn. The music tells you,” Lacey recalls about the writing process. “Sometimes there are lyrics that stir that up, and Korey already had some of that written.”

The song developed into a sweeping chorus and vivid verses, with Lacey’s fervent vocals declaring, “My racing heart so safe with you, they can’t take me away from you.”

GRAMMY  award winner Chris Tomlin was a guest performer on CMT Crossroads Christmas: Brett Young & Friends on Wednesday, December 8th. Tomlin and Young joined voices for a special rendition of “Silent Night”. The holiday special also included Brett performing with Boyz II Men, Colbie Caillat, Dann Huff, Darius Rucker, Gavin DeGraw and Maddie & Tae. All the artists appear on Brett’s holiday album, “Brett Young & Friends Sing the Christmas Classics.”

Tomlin’s Christmas Tour is underway now with 12 concerts in 10 cities before ending on December 18. Chris will wrap up his year with an appearance on Good Morning America on Wednesday, December 22 with a performance of “Christmas Day” from the new Christmas album.

Gospel music veteran Kirk Franklin is set to warm hearts with his brand new TV movie. Kirk Franklin’s A Gospel Christmas is set to air on December 4th at 8/7c as part of the  It’s A Wonderful Life holiday series.

The movie will star Demetria McKinney and Chaz Lamar Shepherd; and it will feature an appearance from Kirk Franklin, who produced and arranged the music for the film.

Here’s what the movie is about: “When Olivia (Demetria McKinney), a young assistant pastor, gets assigned to be a lead pastor at a new church a month before Christmas, she’s fearful she can’t manage the transition, including getting the choir ready to open the town’s annual Winter Jamboree. Banding together with her new congregation, Olivia discovers a new home for herself, and even finds a little Christmas romance along the way! Featuring a special appearance and songs written and arranged by Kirk Franklin.”
