“Until Jesus Taught Me to Love” continues Out of the Whirlwind’s mission of sharing the Gospel through its distinctive “nouveau gospel” sound — a genre-defying blend of traditional gospel, jazz, blues, contemporary Christian, funk, R&B, rock, folk, zydeco, and country influences.

The single follows a period of growing recognition for the independent ensemble. Based on Chicago’s historic South Side — widely recognized as the birthplace of gospel music nearly a century ago — Out of the Whirlwind draws from that rich musical heritage while creating music that reflects its members’ diverse influences and decades of experience as musicians and songwriters.

Formed in 2022, the six-member band takes its name from the Old Testament book of Job. The group begins every performance with prayer and remains committed to using its music to proclaim the Gospel, encourage listeners, and point people toward hope and faith.

Indeed, “Always Get the Grace” challenges listeners to appreciate that, while we may not always get what we want, God’s grace is always there for us:

Sometimes you get the miracle
Just the way you planned
But often God does something different
That you don’t understand
But through it all He’s still loving, caring, and holding you
No matter what you face
Sometimes you get the miracle
But you always get the grace

Penned by Barbara Huffman and Marcia Henry, the song’s profound message is brought to life in a majestic, fully orchestrated setting that alternates between Chris Bryant’s soulful lead and the entire quartet.

“When we’re in the midst of a storm in this life,” notes Stringfield, “we don’t always get the exact answer we’re looking for when we pray. Sometimes you get the miracle, but as a child of God, no matter what you may be going through, you’ll always get his wonderful grace.”

[Ep] Walls (Part One) – Lauren Talley

“When I step behind a microphone,” says Lauren Talley, “my most important job is to help the listener encounter the presence of God.” The singer set out to do just that on her new collection for Horizon Records, and Walls (Part One) more than meets the challenge, enlarging her musical palette to offer listeners more ways than ever to feel their connection to Him.

Walls (Part One) – Lauren Talley

Stream Full Album Below

Working with acclaimed producer Jason Webb, Talley blends inspirational, worship and CCM elements with the strains of Southern Gospel to create uniquely compelling accounts of God’s grace. “In Walls (Part One),” she notes, “we can feel Him in the rhythm and soul of ‘Walls,’ and in the high energy of ‘So So Good.’ He shows up in the vulnerability of ‘Mercy’ and ‘Little Faith,’ and we can give Him all of our worship in the awe-inspiring lyrics of ‘Look At The Lamb.'”

The greater breadth of arrangements allow for Talley’s emotive power to range more freely, from the intimate moments that open “Little Faith” and “Mercy” to the boldly voiced testimonies of “Walls” and “So So Good,” to the full throated power that’s reached in the closing moments of her own “Look at the Lamb.” And as the music of Walls (Part One) varies, so, too do the songs’ lyrics reflect multiple moods and imagery — yet even so, it’s easy to perceive the twin elements of God’s power and God’s grace that underlie them:

He ain’t never met a wall
That He couldn’t tear down
Watch it crumbling to the ground
He ain’t never met a wall
That He couldn’t break through
Oh, just watch what He’s gonna do
(Walls)
Now I’m alive to tell the story
How I’ve overcome
It’s His goodness and mercy
And the power of His blood
I’m so glad that my freedom
Wasn’t based on what I’ve done
It’s His goodness and mercy
And the power of His blood
(Mercy)

[Music] One King – Jordan Colle

Bethel Music worship leader and songwriter Jordan Colle releases his latest single, “One King.” The new track is available today on all streaming platforms alongside its official music video.

One King – Jordan Colle

Following his recent single “Headed My Way,” which encouraged listeners to trust God in the waiting and hold onto hope for the breakthrough to come, “One King” turns the focus toward the One at the center of it all. The new song is a powerful declaration that Jesus alone is worthy of our praise, celebrating His sacrifice, resurrection and eternal reign while exalting Him as the one true King whose name stands above every other.

Says Colle, “Colossians 1 has been sitting with me. Paul says Jesus is the image of the invisible God, that everything was made through Him and for Him, and that all of it holds together in Him. The longer I look at that, the bigger He gets. Then it turns. The King who holds everything together didn’t demand to be served – He gave himself. He made peace through His own blood.”

“That’s the part that gets me,” he continues. “All that power, and still that kind of love. That’s the song. A lot of things try to wear the crown, and a lot of names get thrown around. But only one actually holds it. He’s worth our worship. He’s worth our lives. My prayer is that people don’t just sing it. That they give Him back the crown that was always His.”

As part of Bethel Music, Colle continues to emerge as a trusted voice in worship music, writing songs that serve the Church while offering hope, encouragement and authenticity to listeners in every season of life.

[Ep] Learning to Breathe – Matt Moore

With an all-star cast production cast that included Josiah Prince of Disciple (cowriter), Lester Estelle of Pillar (drums), Dane Allen of Disciple (backing vocals), Nick Radovanovic (mixing) and Sam Moses (mastering), “Learning to Breathe” is truly a breath of fresh air to anyone who listens.

Learning to Breathe – Matt Moore

“‘Learning To Breathe’ is a defiant statement about refusing to stay down after repeatedly having the wind knocked out of you,” Matt Moore explains. “The lyric, ‘If I am bleeding, this heart is still beating,’ became one of the central ideas that shaped the rest of the album.”

It’s a message that is sure to resonate with any listeners going through similar life challenges — whether it’s internal battles with mental health or external battles with endless circumstances outside of your control.

Matt continues, “I think in those moments, it’s so important to cling to any signs of life you can find, any indication that there’s hope in the middle of this and that things are going to get better. If you woke up again today, God’s not done writing your story. You’re still in the fight, there’s still a reason to hold on, and there is still hope.”

That message is a beautifully redemptive follow-up to recently released “Burn it to the Ground (feat Nick Detty),” Moore’s first single from this new set of songs. Where “Burn it to the Ground” focused on relational hardship and rebirth through forgiveness, “Learning to Breathe” offers a place to ground through those hardships. It continues a tradition Matt Moore has established through songs like “Darker Waters,” “Tether” and “Broken Pieces,” showing up alongside listeners when they need it the most.

Matt concludes, “It’s really my hope that this will connect with people who also feel like they’ve just been knocked down by life. A reminder that first, you’re not alone. This season doesn’t last forever. It does get better. And second, there is still beauty in the brokenness. There is still hope in the devastation. And sometimes signs of life look like big, loud indications; sometimes it’s just a gentle pulse when everything else seems dark.”

For many, this song may be that gentle pulse.

“Learning to Breathe” is streaming everywhere now, as is “Burn it to the Ground,” which is currently making inroads at Christian rock radio.

[Music] Glass In the Sugar – Fervor, My Dear

ADWR’s Fervor, My Dear has released the brand new track “Glass In the Sugar,” an introduction to an eerie synth-pop concept album titled Beneath Oranjezaal. The single is available to stream everywhere now.

Glass In the Sugar – Fervor, My Dear

Stream & Enjoy

The mysterious concept album is based around a real-life ballroom in the Netherlands, which is surrounded by legends about alleged hauntings.

“I use the lore surrounding the real life ballroom as a backdrop for the fictional story told by the album’s songs, each of which come from the point of view of a different fictional ghost that I’ve written a backstory for,” explains D.Z. Cromwell, the mastermind behind Fervor, My Dear. “‘Glass in the Sugar’ deals with the theme that although all things may be permissible, not all things are beneficial, as found in Biblical passages such as 1 Corinthians 10:23. The song comes from the point of view of a ghost who is haunted by mistakes made in his former life — mistakes with dire consequences that impacted the people around him.”

As atmospheric as it is ambitious, “Glass In the Sugar” is darkly beautiful as it shimmers through synth-heavy reflections and regrets. With a handpainted cover from one of Fervor, My Dear’s labelmates, the full experience that results is a true work of art. Despite it arcane origins, the lyrics are sure to resonate deeply with anyone who has experienced their own remorse:

“Shards ever piercing, eyes ever weeping

Blood through the ages is now seeping

Glass in the sugar

These crystals come together

For worse or for better, to them we are all tethered.”

“In a way, a part of me is seen in that fictional ghost,” muses Cromwell. “I’ve made mistakes in my life that felt good at that time but had lasting consequences on myself and others. Overindulging in things that may not even necessarily be bad in and of themselves may taste like sugar, but it can cut like glass at the end of the day.”
