‘God of the Impossible’ is the new single from UK songwriter and worship leader Luke Wareham featuring Molly Skaggs (Cageless Birds) ahead of his new EP that is coming out later this year. The song focuses on how God does the impossible in our lives.

Luke says, “I wrote ‘God of the impossible’ with my friend Matt Caddick which is based on when Jesus says in Matthew 19:26 ‘with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible’. This has been my story of God working in my family’s life over the past year in situations which seemed hopeless and desperate. The overall theme for Luke’s new EP ‘Christ Is Lord’ is about how having Jesus as the center of our life changes everything! After an incredible 20 years on Atlantic Records, SKILLET have built this new vision entirely by hand, intentionally opting to go independent at the end of their last contract and developing a solid indie team. Bolstered and galvanized by the support of a fervent global base, they took advantage of this newfound freedom, writing and recording the album at their own pace on the road and at home as well as in studios across Milwaukee, Canada, and Nashville.

The group also tapped the talents of longtime collaborators and producers Brian Howes and Seth Mosely, as well as band member Korey Cooper with YOUTHYEAR/Carlo Colasacco bringing these ten tracks to life naturally.

“We made records on the same label for 20 years, and it was a great experience,” says Cooper. “Since this was the first independent record, it put some pep in my step, so to speak. We did exactly what we wanted to do. If I was on the road and felt inspired to write, I just did. In the past, we’d make a bunch of ideas and whittle everything down for the album. This time, we only wrote and recorded ten tracks, but it was all we needed. Musically, there are a lot of flavors on the record. It’s got the arena songs, but it also has some tunes that are more nostalgic and throwback Skillet.”

“Thematically, there’s so much nihilism in our culture. Depression and teen suicide are at epidemic levels. We’re revolting against a culture that creates nihilism, nothingness, and materialism. The album is poignant, but it’s also very confident and inclusive as well,” he continues.

“It’s a record saying, ‘We have to be willing to stand up for what we believe in—even if it might be unpopular in some circles, but hey, maybe we could have a revolution of love, you know, a revolution of understanding, of tolerance towards people that we don’t agree with and come back to some human dignity and respecting peoples rights and where they’re coming from.

And so, it’s kind of speaking to the division and the polarization that is happening, which I think is a really good message and what the whole ‘revolution’ thing is all about. We allude to it on the record cover where there’s a Skillet flag, and in the corner it lists I Corinthians, 13:13, a verse that says, “Hold onto these things: faith, hope, love. But the greatest is love.”

Ready to play new music for their fans, SKILLET recently announced that they will hit the road this fall with another one of the best-selling rock bands of the 21st century, SEETHER, followed by their first-ever tour of the Middle East in November where the band will be playing in Turkey, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, and more.  From there SKILLET will support Black Stone Cherry on a handful of dates across the UK. The Gospel Music Association has revealed the nominees for the 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards: Brandon Lake takes the lead with sixteen nominations including Artist of the Year. Jeff Pardo received eleven nominations with Chris Brown, Chandler Moore and Jonathan Smith each receiving ten.

CeCe Winans and Naomi Raine lead the female nominees with five nominations each. Nominees were announced earlier this morning on SiriusXM The Message by GMA Dove Awards host, Tauren Wells. The 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards, presented in partnership with the Cantinas Arts Foundation, will be held October 1, 2024 at the Allen Arena in Nashville, TN, and will air exclusively on TBN and TBN+ Friday, and simulcast on SiriusXM The Message, October 4, 2024 at 8pm and 10pm ET. A re-broadcast will air on TBN and TBN+ Friday, October 11th, at 8p and 10p ET.

The 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards are produced by the Gospel Music Association. Jackie PAtillo and Justin Fratt serve as showrunners and executive producers, alongside Curtus Stoneberger and Paul Wright as producers. Russell E. Hall returns as director, Michael Nolan as scriptwriter, Scott Moore and Go Live Productions as production manager.

Capitol Christian Music Group (CCMG) has elevated three key executive staff members. Emily Dashiell has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Commercial Partnerships, Jeff Gunkel has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Market Development, and Carlos Monnaco has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Finance.

“We are thrilled to share the exciting news of Emily Dashiell, Jeff Gunkel and Carlos Monnaco’s well-deserved promotions,” share CCMG Co-Presidents Brad O’Donnell and Hudson Plachy. “Their commitment to the company and their teams has been instrumental in our success and in our relationships with our artists and writers. We know that they will continue to do great things in their expanded roles.”

In her new position as SVP, Commercial Partnerships, Dashiell will oversee the company’s revenue strategies across its entire portfolio. In addition, she will continue to focus on partner activations with DSPs while also guiding the label business across global distribution, eCommerce/D2C, catalog marketing, streaming and playlisting strategy. 

As the former VP, Marketing & Commercial Partnerships, Dashiell was integral to the commercial success of numerous artists, including NF, Anne Wilson, TobyMac, Chris Tomlin, Hillsong UNITED and Blessing Offor. She originally joined CCMG in 2015 as a Brand Manager to launch the company’s proprietary curator brand, SOZO Playlists.

“I am incredibly honored to step into my expanded role at Capitol CMG! I want to thank Hudson Plachy and Brad O’Donnell for their continued leadership and support,” Dashiell shares. “The future of Christian & Gospel music is robust – and I’m eager to help drive new commercial strategy, bespoke innovation, and accelerated growth for our talented roster of artists.”

Rising from VP, Market Development, to SVP, Market Development, Jeff Gunkel will oversee the areas of market development and digital rights, as well as Re:Think Records, which he helped relaunch in 2018. Under Gunkel’s leadership, Re:Think will continue to honor its mission of coming alongside artists and labels to grow their audience and enhance listener engagement, while keeping ownership in the hands of the artist. Joining CCMG in 2004, Gunkel spent his first 14 years at the company in key roles with CCMG Publishing. His strategic vision and innovative approach have been pivotal in driving excellence throughout his tenure thus far at CCMG.

“I am honored and excited to step into this new role,” Gunkel says. “Christian music has a vibrant future that will be built by artists paving new paths outside traditional industry landscapes. Re:Think is committed to constant evolution, setting its sights on how to meet the needs of artists by growing their reach to impact future generations.”

With his promotion to SVP, Finance, Carlos Monnaco’s responsibilities expand to include oversight of financial planning and analysis, royalty accounting and IT. Monnaco, who previously served as VP, Finance, recently celebrated 18 years with the company. Prior to arriving at CCMG, he held finance and accounting roles across several globally recognized entertainment brands, including The Walt Disney Company, NBC Universal and EMI Music.

“Having served in the music industry for many years now, this opportunity to help steward the legacy of our artists and writers is both humbling and exciting,” Monnaco shares. “I’m grateful to both Hudson and Brad and look forward to keep supporting our creative community as they continue to bring an uplifting message to a worldwide audience.”

After a brief hiatus, renowned Music minister, Raymond Chinedu marks his return to the music scene with the release of his latest single titled “Yahweh”.

The dialogue between God and Moses in EXODUS 3 as it concerns the deliverance of a people in captivity for so many years from the hands of the Egyptians, is one event that would change the way and manner we see and relate with God after many years down the line.

Moses said to God “who will I tell them sent me”? And the Lord retorted “Tell them I AM WHO I AM sent you. Tell them the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and I shall be known by this name from generation to generation”.

It is these resonating verses that gave birth to the song YAHWEH .
