Curb | Word Entertainment pop artist and songwriter Sarah Reeves premieres poignant new song, “Years”. The track, which Reeves penned at the height of the global pandemic, is a hopeful ode to an unprecedented year.
“Last year in quarantine, I decided to sit down and write out my feelings,” shares Reeves of the resilient track. “I felt the heaviness of the world, yet I knew it wouldn’t last forever. The hope would come, and we would look back with stories to tell. On the other side of it, I decided to have the song produced and that became ‘Years.’”
“These are the days we’ll talk about for years,” Reeves reflects as she places a lyrical timestamp on this moment in history collectively endured around the world. Produced by Mokita, the introspective “Years” was co-written by Reeves, Ian Keaggy and John-Luke Carter and serves as the first taste of new music from Reeves since Life Love & Madness debuted in the Top 5 of the iTunes Singer/Songwriter album chart upon release last fall.
This year, Reeves has already dropped three new remixes of songs from that acclaimed album, including “Anxious (Mokita Remix),” “Not My Style (R3HAB Remix)” and “Dance To It (Luca Schreiner Remix).” Additionally, the songstress was recently featured on Armin Van Buuren’s latest single, “Tell Me Why,” and on The Belonging Co.’s “Eyes On You” and “Holy Sound,” two tracks from their brand new full-length album, See The Light.
GRAMMY®-nominated Hillsong Young & Free released their newest single “Phenomena (DA DA)” alongside an accompanying lyric visual and live performance video. Recorded in front of a live audience, “Phenomena (DA DA)” encapsulates the feverous energy of a crowd on fire for God’s love.
Hard-hitting and melodically anthemic, with a rap interlude, the new track proclaims, “You’ve given me Your vision/ Better than a dream/ You ain’t gotta wake me up/ It’s not a fantasy.”
Set against an enthusiastic, pulsing crowd, the live performance visual and high-energy track deliver the boundary-pushing, classically-contemporary sound Hillsong Young & Free has made their signature.
“‘Phenomena!’ or also known as ‘da da da da da da,’ is a song that gets into your head and into your heart,” says Hillsong Young & Free’s Laura Toggs. “It’s a statement song about the true reality we have in Jesus.
Hillsong Young & Free’s latest single follows the group’s most recent release of the acoustic version of their hit album, “ALL OF MY BEST FRIENDS.” The original full-length project that released in August 2020 earned the group a 2021 GRAMMY® nomination for “Best Contemporary Christian Album” and marked their second career nomination. ELEVATION RHYTHM is excited to release their newest single, “SIMPLE” (featuring Joe L Barnes), which dropped today on all global streaming services. “SIMPLE” releases on the back end of YTHX, a week-long youth camp broadcast online and in person at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. Listen to “SIMPLE” HERE.
The catchy track features Joe L Barnes, who’s also credited as a writer on the song. “There’s nothing we could buy or change about ourselves that will make God love us any more. The song says, ‘all the best things in life are free.’ That’s home, family, love, etc. and that’s what we’ve found and want young people to experience for themselves,” says Barnes.
“When we sat down to write this song, we were looking for a way to communicate that nothing replaces the significance found in being accepted for who we are in Christ,” says Davide Mutendji of ELEVATION RHYTHM. Today, the group is also releasing a video of “SIMPLE.”
I love You, Lord For Your mercy never fails me All my days, I’ve been held in Your hands From the moment that I wake up Until I lay my head Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
And all my life You have been faithful And all my life You have been so, so good With every breath that I am able Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
I love Your voice You have led me through the fire In the darkest night You are close like no other I’ve known You as a Father I’ve known You as a Friend And I have lived in the goodness of God (yeah)
And all my life You have been faithful (oh) And all my life You have been so, so good With every breath that I am able Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God (yeah)
Your goodness is running after It’s running after me Your goodness is running after It’s running after me With my life laid down I’m surrendered now I give You everything
‘Cause Your goodness is running after It’s running after me (oh-oh) ‘Cause Your goodness is running after It’s running after me Your goodness is running after It’s running after me With my life laid down I’m surrendered now I give You everything ‘Cause Your goodness is running after It keeps running after me
And all my life You have been faithful And all my life You have been so, so good With every breath that I am able Oh, I’m gonna sing of the goodness of God (I’m gonna sing, I’m gonna sing)
‘Cause all my life You have been faithful And all my life You have been so, so good With every breath that I am able Oh, I’m gonna sing of the goodness of God Oh, I’m gonna sing of the goodness of God
Verse 1 O the perfect Son of God In all His innocence Here walking in the dirt with you and me He knows what living is He’s acquainted with our grief Man of sorrows and Son of suffering
Chorus Blood and tears How can it be There’s a God who weeps There’s a God who bleeds O praise the One Who would reach for me Hallelujah to the Son of Suffering
Verse 2 Some imagine You Are distant and removed But You chased us down in merciful pursuit To the sinner You were grace And the broken You embraced And in the end the proof is in Your wounds Yes in the end the proof was in Your wounds
Chorus Blood and tears How can it be There’s a God who weeps There’s a God who bleeds O praise the One Who would reach for me Hallelujah to the Son of Suffering
Bridge Your cross my freedom Your stripes my healing All praise King Jesus Glory to God in Heaven Your blood still speaking Your love still reaching All praise King Jesus Glory to God in Heaven
