Riser House/Columbia Nashville #1 hitmaker Mitchell Tenpenny enlisted the help of Grammy-nominated performer Danny Gokey to record a new version of his smash hit “Bucket List.” The two powerhouse vocalists, who connected through a mutual friend, spar it out on the refreshed track available today. The song, written by Mitchell, Chris DeStefano and Laura Veltz, was originally released one year ago on New Year’s Day 2021. The singers carved out time from their busy schedules this month to shoot a music video for “Bucket List” at the Melrose Church at Fiddlers Grove in Wilson County, Tenn. The film was shot with Director Tristan Cusick. Watch it below.

You never know how long you have on this earth, so you need to try and live it to the fullest,” shared Mitchell. “I’ve been a big fan of Danny’s for a long time, his voice is so incredible. And even though this song has been out for a while now, I felt he could bring the song to the Christian music community, and I knew no one else could do it better. He’s completely changed this song. I’m honored and grateful he would do this with me.”

When I was young I used to wonder why older ladies would work so hard to be younger. I’d see them dye their hair and fight off their wrinkles with an army of creams and needles, and I’d think, just be who you are. For so long I couldn’t understand it. But somewhere along the way I turned into one of them.

Who told us younger is better and why are we listening?

I am who I am because of all the years that brought me here; every moment carries me forward like steps to a scenic lookout. The older I get, the more beautiful the view.

I’ve learned to keep my eyes open for little bits of wisdom I find on the path and my pockets are just beginning to fill. So if I look tired, it’s because I’ve come a long way. This is the face of a woman who’s been on a journey, each wrinkle a monument to the grief and joy I’ve felt; each silver strand of hair a glittering reminder of all the magic I’ve seen.

Yes, it’s harder and harder to sit on the floor (and get back up again). Yes, the newness is wearing off, but these spots and wrinkles are not flaws; they’re patina. We’re not just growing older, we’re growing more beautiful with age.

Heller began releasing monthly singles in April 2017 that together have amassed over 55 million combined streams to date (through August 2020). The songstress will continue to announce a brand-new song on the first Friday of each month.
